NCAA Tournament Thread

Not rooting for it, but kind of unbelievable that we could have an 11 seed playing a 12 seed in Elite 8 game on Monday..

What makes Oregon State even more amazing to me is I had no clue who the heck their coach was and was shocked to see this is his 7th year and he had pretty much a mediocre tenure to date prior to this year.

Who would have thought 3 years later one of these teams would be in the elite 8. With a chance at the Final 4.

Things picked up in second half but kinda an ugly game. Bunch of missed opportunities under 6 minutes left

After watching SYR and now ORE ST I wonder why more teams don’t utilize a zone defense and the increased reliance of the three point shot makes the recruitment of Smith look even more important for SJU.

I didn’t realise that Nova played two weak mid-majors to get to the Sweet 16

Acid test for Archidiacono's younger brother today. I don't discount Nova's chances here if he can survive the pressure.

How was loyola favorite by 7 in that game...I guess they thought they must be really good beating the 1 seed Illinois....

Always so easy to question spread after the game is over but this one was kind of obvious. Oregon State tied for 6th in PAC 12 with 10-10 conference record, Loyola rated #17 in country in final poll pre-tourney. If they shot even 30% from three they win that game.

I met Jack of Virginia at this game. Had a wonderful time talking and reminiscing about St Johns basketball.

Teams that live by the 3, also die by the 3.

Funny, my takeaway was the only way Loyola loses that game is to play the way they did--shoot 22% from beyond the Arc and 33% from the floor. Fuhgeddaboud winning 'any' D-1 game with those stats, never mind a Sweet 16 game.
The worst time for Loyola to play its worst game of the year.

Loyola hardly lived by the three this year. They had a lot of open looks today that they missed that they usually make, as simple as that. Sometimes it's just not your day; I know I've been there.
