NCAA Tournament Thread

Did not see any of the game but was given an update that Oregon was up 49-46 in late in the first half.  I responded that does not bode well for Iowa because they can’t sustain that pace.

Hate to say it but Bill Walton’s words about how good the Pac 10 is looking real good right about now.

No other way to slice it, you get 4 of the top 8 teams in the Tourney (2 number 1s and 2 number 2s) and 5 out of the top 16 and 4 don't make their way out of the 2nd round, 2 get bounced in the first round.

That is a disaster.
Yeah this is bad. Can anyone remember a conference having as bad of a showing (based on expectations) as the Big 10 this year or to go the other way a power conference having as good of a start as the PAC 12?

Big 10 is consistently overrated by the press and coaches poll.
Since the year 2000 they have won one NCAA Basketball Championship and that was in 2000.  It’s time the voters in those polls got the message.

Watching Gonzaga for the first this weekend reminds me of the team they are trying match , the Indiana team of 1976 that is the last team to go undefeated. Five players , all who are from very good to excellent, who very seldom go one on one but whose success is due to the way they move the ball with very little dribbling and no forced shots.
Like Indiana none of them will make all pro as their success is due to their talented team play. No one can play with them this year and they would be hard to beat any year.

I remember the ACC went through something like this a couple of years back.

Zags shot selection, ball movement is very good.

Suggs and Kispert are predicted too 10 picks.

Wow, Gonzaga is so good, especially on the offensive side.  Their ball movement is special.

I haven't seen a lot of Oklahoma this year but watched their two tourney games and this kid Reaves is a helluva college player. Seems to love the big stage!

Gonzaga Handle Bar Mustache Or Loyola Pizza delivery guy. Would would win ok beer pong match ? I go  with Zags Mustache guy. He looks less old like maybe from the 70s

Love March madness because of games like this one. Oklahoma clearly not on the same level as Gonzaga but man they are scratching and clawing away at the lead. Giving it everything they have. Will probably come up short but they are giving it everything they have

I feel like there should be an all tourney dodgeball team given the headbands and moose-staches.

Those 2 and Timme are all finalists for Wooden Award. First time any team has had 3 finalists since they went to the late season finalist list. Kispert 1st team AA, Suggs and Timme 2nd team AA. Also all 3 are finalists for best player at their respective positions.

Have really enjoyed watching Jasquez of UCLA. Very good ballplayer. Parents met at Concordia college, where they both played ball.

None of which means anything (so far) with regard to the NBA, which is what I believe Enright meant.

I love how this UCLA team has multiple guys who like getting to their midrange game.

that’s one complaint I had about Champagnie this year.. he fell a little too in love with the 3 ball. His midrange game is money he should keep it at the forefront of his arsenal

I realize that the Gonzaga players are all rated close to the top at their positions but I feel college basketball just doesn’t have any great players this year. The one and dones at Duke and Ky for example are nowhere near the usual talent those schools produce and after watching the top rated player at Ok. St. the other night who is slated to be the first pick, I think he will struggle to start in the NBA rather than star.
The last two seasons have been down years for college producing ready made stars for the NBA.

Agreed, but I do think Suggs will make a great pro.
