NCAA Tournament Discussion

I foul up 3 if I have big men I can trust.

Purdue on the other hand, had been getting destroyed on the offensive boards in that second half. What made them think they were gonna get that one? Dumb.

Great game by Edwards a shame it basically ended on his turnover.
I think he knew he had to pass the ball or he would be fouled before he could get off a 3 point shot.

Good point, Bama. I was thinking the same. Awesome game by Edwards. Felt sorry for him and Purdue.
Two great games today.

Purdue Dad here...feeling sick. So freaking close... I agree with fouling up 3. My only quibble is having Eifert on the line blocking out Diakite instead of Williams. But Painter coached a good tourney and was really great this year. He lost 4 starters off of last years team.
It will hurt losing Edwards, but their future is bright with the 2 freshmen Wheeler and Williams returning.

I picked Duke for this region before Tourney but I actually like Michigan St today. Think they are playing great and love their size and Winston is tremendous. I think they are going to beat Duke today.

Shame they lost Josh Langford earlier this year or they would be that much better.

One thing in this game , I didn’t see Tarik jacking up many of the 3’s he threw up last year . Nor, did he seem to grab a lot of rebounds . Give him credit , he blocked shots , like he did here . The BE seems to be a much more physical league than the Leagues the Zags and Raiders play in ..Nevertheless, he played well in his role .

You must be kidding me!! Tariq had 5 blocks and 7 rebounds, the most on his team and the second most of anyone in the game. If you watched him play with TT, you would see that he is well coached and plays both great man to man and team defense. There is a reason he is playing 30 plus minutes on a final four team and was in consideration for defensive player of the year. The Big 12 was a much better conference than the BE this year and the best defensive conference in the country.
. You may be right . I missed much of the first half of the TT game and I didn’t look up post game stats as you did . I commented on the part of the game I saw and did praise TO for his Blocks . He played well , no doubt . As to the BE vs the Big 12 and WAC Conference or whatever the Zags 2 team league is is called , I said I didn’t believe either Conference played as physical basketball as the BE . I didn’t say the BE was better than either Conference , just more physical in my opinion .

Izzo does not have a great track record against K. 1-11 Lifetime. Maybe he is due.

I don't think they would have fouled until he crossed midcourt line and Purdue at the time had still 2 timeouts, i would have kept it until i crossed it then try to call time before getting foul.

Another absolutely fantastic Elite eight game. Again in OT between AUburn and Kentucky. Doughty missing free throws 2/3 that could have sealed it for Auburn. Auburns pg 11/11from th line and Auburn to the ff for the first time in school history. Pearl is a cheater but boy can he coach.

Great to see Auburn and TT get to Final Four for first time. Would love to see Mich. State knock off Duke. They have a good shot today for sure.

Auburn very deep especially with respect to bigs. Able to beat UK without Okeke and advance to final 4. Nice to see a team have the depth to withstand an injury.
Duke has really picked it up defensively last 5 minutes or so.
Both teams really playing hard. Nice to see.

Kenny Smith just compared Cassius Winston to former Johnny Mark Jackson (along with Sherman Doulas) for his great court vision and decision making offsetting his lack of athleticism. Nice to hear the Jackson compliment from his former high school rival.

Actually reminds me of Douglas, very crafty. So far his experience giving Jones a little trouble.

Funny, didn’t catch the Spartan player’s name, but a phenomenal crazy athletic drive and shot that danced around the rim and went in!
Reminded me of Simon’s drives...except for the finish.
Lol.

DeLaurier having very productive game for Duke; they needed that third guy to help the two stars. I'm rooting for Michigan State, but just enjoying the quality of play. No surprise that Magic is there cheering his guys on.

As much as the beginning of the tournament I thought was boring the last few days have been excellent !!
