More Mitch oh goodie! ;) :)
Staff means St. Jean, Luca, and the very involved grad assistant.
Chris Huey who seems an energetic guy.
Chris is ft staff this season, not grad assistant. Great guy too

Just putting it out there that the ESPN article (which is currently their second biggest headline) mentions Bobby Hurley first and then Tim Cluess second. No mention of anybody else:

http://www.espn.com/mens-college-ba...0872/mullin-emotional-decision-leave-st-johns
If cluess gets the job, then I'm officially done with sju. They won't do anything with him.
What's so bad about Cluess? I don't know much about him other than he'd probably remain loyal to the program/NYC and is a winner. Not sure about his recruiting, but if we hired some good recruiters then we should be set. As long as Cluess shows up to official recruiting visits he'd already be a big step up.
Adam, what has he done at Iona, oh get to the ncaa you say? well yeah, it doesn't take much to win the MAAC tournament. Then once they get in it's one and done.
I don't want a pray, I'm sick of prays, and that's what Cluess is. Pray that he's the one.
Why settle on a pray, when we could get Pitino, who'd be a sure thing.

I don't wanna freaking hear it, if it's Cluess then I'm so freaking done.
I get that, but no top recruit is going to play in that league. Gonzaga is the only non-major conference team that consistently makes it to the NCAAT as an at-large, and the WCC is a much better league than the MAAC.

You could be right in that he wouldn't get good recruits to come to St. John's, but I'm not so sure. I don't think anybody knows.

ABC

Anybody
But
Cluess

So the guys had success at D 2 and a mid major. What makes anybody think that translates to success in the BE?
Can he recruit at a higher level than he's done for years? Can he match wits with the other coaches in the conference? Are we setting ourselves up for another four years and a coaching change? His run and gun wide open style of offense won't play against teams that actually play defense. The guys 60 years old and has never gotten any higher than the MAAC?

If this is the best we can do than Cragg should resign too.

It's Greg and maybe Luca at this point.

Heck I know he didn't mean Mitch. He wasn't around even when his boy CM was coach. People should enjoy this time. Over the past 25 years or so the best time being a St. John's fan is when we don't have a coach.

lol

Some of these posts, I don't know. Someone's been in the cooking sherry.

Are we still on the hook for Mitch's and St Jean's salaries or are they renewed year to year?

By time new coach hired going to only have Walkon’s left

I have had internet issues the past two days - did I miss anything?

Can't help wondering how different things might have been had the call in the first Seton Hall game gone differently.

Seeing how awfully this team played at the end of the year, it's safe to say we'd have one more win, and one less loss.
Wow this turning into cluster fluck.
I kept telling u guys things could and probably would be worse.
Way to go out on a limb on that.

Even with the win, style of play and lack of depth would have still reared its ugly head.

Unfortunately it’s part of the process of moving on from a coach. Will have to our together a roster this season somehow.

Admittedly, but I would not discount momentum, better BE record, a deserved higher seed in the tournament all of which make it easier to overlook the style of play. Not disputing the decision, but wondering if ti would have made it harder to justify a firing.

I'm confused...if Mullin stepped down officially doesn't that mean the buyout was already negotiated? Why are people reporting he's demanding every penny of the $4 million?
