I'm copy n pasting a snipet from the other board, as an ASU fan put up a synopsis of Hurley:
"Coaching wise, he is not the greatest. I love Hurley and what he has done for the program. Would be devastated to lose him at this point. However, he is not a good X's and O's coach. I have always believed that he can develop this area, however. ASU plays up and down to their competition. If you are looking for a defensive minded team, you'll be disappointed. The ASU team this year was highly athletic, yet showed no defensive cohesiveness 75% of the time. Opponents were getting open 3's at will, which is why ASU had terrible loses to teams like Wazzu.
Offense is always moving, but rarely does the ball go inside. He give his guards all the freedom in the world. This can either be great, or spell disaster. If you watched the ASU-Buffalo game you would see what I mean. No ball movement, just guards dribble handoff outside the 3pt line looking for their own shot most of the time."
And history repeats in itself. In four years I'll be arguing not to fire Hurley. Que sera, I look forward to my arguments that Hurley should be given more time.
