Hiring a new coach will bring all posters together and bury many hatchets.

(for 20minutes) :)
I’ll take the ‘under’.
Lol.
Hate to break it to you but there’s no way St Johns (still a Catholic university) hires Pitino. Next up? .
Sacrament of Confession?
It's going to be Hurley.
I hope so. Is that what ‘your’ guy is sayin’?

If Hurley comes I hope he at least brings one impact kid! Either a current player or a recruit that decommits and follows him.
You don’t want this smoke Bobby!
Just saying it would help a lot lol. Btw Bobby had the #11 recruiting class nationally in 2018
2016: 17th
2017: 23rd
2018: 11th

With Hsu and Borman we may be able to bring in top 25-30 classes regularly.

I am sad about Mullin leaving. Really wanted it to end better. My guess something is going on in his life/family that impacted his performance. Weird outcome.

Hurley
Cluess
Dawkins
Amaker
Scheyer
James
Pitino
Hell no to Cluess, Amaker and Scheyer. Just a "no" to Dawkins. Who is James? Does LeBron wanna coach us next season? :)
Agreed I think he means Nate James, K assistant and former Duke player.

Bobby would be an upgrade but not sure how much long term if he has the skills to match Jay. He'll work though.

Pitino would win with 5 midgets and a cheerleader.
Oh! Hell no to Nate James, too!

Pitino would take this team we have right now, and add a couple of decent-to-solid players to the mix, and we'd find ourselves dancing next season.
I honestly believe Pitino would be able to get Precious to SJU.
With St Johns being placed on Probation right after.

Let the Paultzman avatar watch begin. :woohoo:

Hate to break it to you but half the students don't identify as Catholic. I don't think they can afford Pitino or Hurley. Father Harry just tweeted while dressed in his $1 000 custom tailored Hong Kong suit that the next hire will be a home run. Asked about firing coach Jarvis a few games into the season he responded it was the Catholic thing to do. When it led to players paying a hooker he questioned the non-Catholic culture of the program.
Bottom line is this has nothing to do with religion. It's a business. Leave religion and personal reasons aside.

I had the NCAA tournament discussion topic set up to send to my email. As I’m watching the game I’m realizing no posts are coming through, or very few through halftime. I was thinking, oh boy. I bet Mullin is out. Sure enough I logged on and there were all the posters discussing who will be the next coach instead of the game.

I said Mullin was gone! Pitino is the target! Hurley the distraction! Tenn and STJ will fight for Pitino. The leak now about Mullin has everything to do with Barnes/UCLA talk
If Pitino comes you get all the credit in the world. If Hurley comes credit is going to go to someone here who doesn't post rumors who told me and another person this might happen during the big east tourney
K good to know, but to me, TB gets the ‘public’ credit that ‘something’ was afoot. And he’s been vilified on the Board fo mentioning it—albeit Pitino 99% of the time—but he clued me in at least that big donors were disgruntled and moving for things to happen, and also mentioned...once!...that Hurley was in the mix.
I give TB huge kudos for being the first to mention ‘possibilities’ publicly.
I do hope it’s Hurley...Bobby.
Lol.
Thanks Tom.

Will support whoever, though it will be tough if a Hurley. Over under on first Fire whoever thread December 2019. Even money on Zaun as the thread starter.

Feel free to have all the wet dreams you want. Pitino isn’t happening here. Just because you don’t think that his past will matter to the Vincentians who still run the place means nothing. Just proves you know nothing.

There are far more alums who would rebel than “big money guys”.

Believe what’s you want but you’re showing your ignorance.

Why take this as an opportunity to take shots at me? Speaking of being negative. We're about to hire a REAL coach. I hoped like hell Mullin worked out but even Borzello just tweeted out that several sources said he didn't work hard enough. His effort was awful. We will still cherish his legend as a player. I'd expect any SJ fan to be frustrated and to disapprove of a HC that doesn't care and continually makes head scratching decisions or doesn't do anything at all. Hurley AND whomever he hires as AC's will be recruiting day and night. If he can get top 25 classes and one as high as 11th at ASU which is a bad basketball school just imagine what he can do here when he's at home with local recruiters. I'm not taking shots at you guys, don't take them at me now that your childhood idol is not coach. Be happy we have a real chance to compete again.

If it is Hurley, and he leads this program to a final four, then I will forgive him for choosing Duke over SJU.
I would hire Pitino in two seconds...
Good. Will he give us a ‘hometown’ discount?!?
Joking.

WASJU is just a joker. Don’t take him so seriously. You have an opportunity now to show everyone the Mullin hatred was a one time thing.

I don’t think we need to take any more cheap shots at a Mullin now by calling his replacement a “REAL coach” or anything along those lines. What’s done is done. Let’s just get behind the new coach when it’s announced.
