More Jordan Problems?

Mullin said, they're waiting for Jordan's grades. Are they expecting a miracle? Do they think that it will not be as bad as it seems right now? Maybe they figure that if it's better than they thought, it will be easier for him to qualify come December? I say if we can get Mussini and Carter we go that way and just move on from Jordan. Way too much drama. I feel bad for the kid because he comes from a horrible situation but the staff has to move forward. I would hate for us to lose out on a player that can help us next year because the staff is waiting to see how bad the situation is with Jordan.

Mullin did recently say,"We're waiting on grades." Which broaches the question, did Jordan finish the second semester? Otherwise, it's obvious he failed every course. What grades are we waiting for?

Even if he busts his butt in summer and fall semester to get eligible, I guarantee some of us will complain that him returning second semester will disrupt our new-found team chemistry with LoVett and Mussini.

I guarantee you our freshmen, like nearly all other freshmen, will have their struggles in year 1, and someone like Rysheed coming back for the winter and spring would be VERY VERY welcomed.

I have a different take on this. As good as he is and could be why have Mullin deal with head case in his first coaching job? From my understanding he took extended "trips" to Philly often w/o telling anyone. Why have Mullin deal with that. Gets a pass for first year from most anyway, let him coach kids that he knows where they will be for the most part.

Every single high-major D1 team has at least one head case. If Mullin wanted to ease into things in his first year, he could have coached high school. I'm sure he is ready, willing and able to deal with the Jordan's of the world.

Does anyone really want a repeat of Jordan's first 2 years--the good and the bad?
I'll pass. Let's move forward.

I don't think Mussini comes if Jordan remains.

Paultz, you get the sense that Mussini will take his time to make final decision?

This is why Mullin is thinking of hiring former teammate Latrell Sprewell as an assistant for a hands on approach to managing Jordan. :)

Lavin desperately needed Jordan, Chris does not. IMO if Jordan were to somehow return, he would be on a very short leash. None of the ongoing antics of the past would be tolerated.

I think he will come when/if Jordan moves on. With LoVett now on board, playing time & role seem important obviously. Just me, but don't see Jordan coming back. That situation should be clear by next week hopefully & Mussini's as well.

With NBA aspirations, and no apparent interest in academics, the D-League seems like a perfect place for him. Question, though: If he has eligibility remaining and was not drafted, is he eligible to play in the d-league this fall? Can he simply leave school and be eligible as a free agent to sign with any NBA team and be placed in D-league?

When did Mussini's commitment become contingent on Jordan's status? Seems like Mussini keeps pushing it off. We were led to believe this would be done a couple of weeks ago.

Yes, in fact HS kids can jump right to the D League to bypass their one year of college if they like, though no one does. They are then eligible for the draft after that one year. Usually guys skipping college are good and will go where the money's better like Mudiay, Jennings and Tyler did. Tyler needed to play 2 years since he skipped his senior year of HS as well.

But we have also picked up some guards so the backcourt situation is now muddier.

I respect Mussini for wanting to confirm the situation he would be committing to. That said, if I were advising him, I am not sure I would base the decision on whether Jordan will be here or not. Let's face it, Mussini is not going to grow into an NBA body in one year. He would get plenty of minutes this year with Jordan and Lovett here; and would likely gain even more minute as a sophomore.

Agree. Ever since Lavin got canned JohnnyFan has become one of the best posters on here IMO :)

Fwiw someone on Instagram asked rysheed if he was gonna be eligible and rysheed replied "yessir"

Was it a St. John's fan asking, or a LaSalle/Temple/Drexel/St. Joe's fan asking?
