Does anyone really want a repeat of Jordan's first 2 years--the good and the bad?
I'll pass. Let's move forward.
I still want him here. You're probably right and I'd be setting myself up for disappointment but I'm not ready to cut the cord yet. He's the most naturally gifted player we've had in years and when Jordan is playing at the top of he's game he looks like he can outplay Kris Dunn. Consistency is the issue and I want one more year to see what Mullin can do with him. In my humble opinion it's worth it. I'm saying this not because I have faith in Jordan but more because I have faith in Mullin. Seems like people are saying Jordan is most likely out but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't pulling for him to stick around. I don't think we compete for a tourney bid without him this year so if he qualifies, why not keep him on a very short leash and see how he responds?
Would you still want him if he costs us Mussini? We know this would be Jordan's last season is he be worth the trouble for one more year at the expense of a four star kid we might have for a few years? Can we count on him or will he disappear to Philly for a few weeks before key games. Will he attend classes? I also sought of want him back but part of me says just turn the page especially if we can get Mussini and the staff is confident of Lovett being eligible.
That's a good question. I really like Mussini's game and will be thrilled if we get him. And yes Jordan has a couple of strikes already so if everyone is content to part ways that's of course understandable. If Jordan leaves and we end up with Mussini I'll still be happy with the direction the program is going.
I'm just pointing out that a few weeks ago everyone was saying that the most important recruiting that Mullin did was getting Jordan and Obekpa back. We just graduated a senior who had problems at the end of his sophomore year and rebounded to become a team leader and one of the all-time leading scorers. I also may be in the minority here, but I think Jordan is a really special player. Like Jordan could be a lottery pick if he can get his head on straight and fulfill his potential. Maybe Jordan qualifies, comes back and flames out. I'll be the first to admit I was wrong. But also maybe we get a Rysheed Jordan who realizes he's made a mess of things and comes in determined and ready to get to work like Harrison did. Also, I think the change in leadership (Mullin) is big. Sometimes a head case just needs the right people around them. Look what JR Smith has been doing in Cleveland.
