Mike Vacc on Chris

Anyone besides Mullin and 100% of this board would've completely given up on the staff last season.

Assuming we don't make the Tournament, it's time to move on. Try to retain Matt and the players.
Again hard to argue with this sentiment. SJU has spent a total of 12 days OVER .500 in league play since he has been the coach. 1-0 then 2-0 then 2-1 his 2nd year and 2-1 this year. That's it. That means he has NEVER been over .500 in league play past the 2nd week in January. Never. And that includes this year, If this was anyone else posters would be ripping that coach to shreds. Those posters wouldn't be looking at this roster and saying, "Isn't transfer U just a great strategy?" They would be looking at it saying, "What a mess? How did they think they could win with no size, no post presence and no capable freshmen ready to contribute."

The only explanation I can think of is that again they have committed themselves to a narrative and they refuse to be honest.
Or they want to let the season play out root for the team they are supposedly a fan of and the best player in the history of the program to make an NCAA instead of bitching even when we were 12-0. Let the year play out if we don't make tourney the experiment didn't work and probably will hire another soon to be ex coach.
Best player in the history of the program?
The coach, yes
My bad, thought you meant Shamorie.

I am not talking about that. But they never wanted the "season to play out in year 3 under Norm." Especially after the MSG loss to Duke. Boy if I had access to the BEB and Redmen after that loss. And that conference was so much better than this one.

But I'm tired right now so I don't have time to argue with people who clearly get amnesia when it doesn't suit their purposes.
Board was split 50 / 50 by year three.
Personally I have not hid fact that based on Mullin the player here he should get more of benefit of doubt than someone that wasn't Babe Ruth of ST John's. Also even though I wasn't a fan I rooted for Lavin to succeed and thought he did enough to be extended. Liked Fran and Jarvis was clearly 2nd best coach we have ever had. Only disliked one coach.
Poor analogy. Babe Ruth begged the Yankees to let him manage them and they wouldn't give him a sniff. ;) :p :)
Nope and we probably should have too but since they hired him I wasn't going to kill him every day on here for sitting on tables and what kind of water he drank. Was also willing to give him the same amount of time everyone else since Louie got.

I was so angry after the loss I forced Nathalie to go out to dinner for restaurant week ( well not forced because I knew she wasn't cooking anyway ). I figured that would cure my anger. Well I went into food coma took nap and woke up and am still angry

Didn’t want to add to the litany on an earlier post, but referencing Bama’s remark about The Babe and the Yankees, there’s a new bio on The Babe out, called “The Big Fella by Jane Leavy, a must read imo judging from several articles.

Chris Mullin is 15-5 at his alma mater with half the BE season left to play. I'd love to sit here like the rest of you and post various arguments about why yet another administrative change would make SJU great again. The fact is he is our last, best hope of a future and he's being callously written off. When he was hired it was understood that this was the last chance at relevance. But sure, let's go get another coach. Let's add to the following list of coaching talent on the sidelines since Carnesseca:

Steve Lavin, Gene Keady, Mitch Richmond, Mike Dunlap, Roberts, Fraschilla, Jarvis. More than enough experience and talent there, but it never materialized. It's obvious that there must be SOMETHING ELSE that could be the problem.
Being 32 games under .500 in conference play will absolutely write you off and rightfully so. I repeat that fact just to show the magnitude of his failure. This is not a mediocre team around .500 under him...this might even be record-breaking bad.
You're new nom de plume should be Jimmy 32 times... Since you repeat the same thing 32 times
Great article. Tying your shoes is more important? Seriously?
Two things are becoming more obvious to some fans.
1. Mullin will not get an extension and will be a lame duck coach.
2. The shoe thing is very symbolic of his 4 years as a coach. In year one he knew nothing and left it to a mid who knew less. By year four, just when we thought he was over the hump he reverts back to year one.
Mullin is flawed, but a good recruiter and loves the school and the city.
Does he even love the school, though?

How many games did he attend in the 30 years between his eligibility expiring and his hiring as coach? And for about 15 years, every time his name was mentioned here, Otis would talk about how Mullin never donated.

Can we finally admit that the 0-11 start last year wasn't just LoVett quitting? Of course it was part of it, but another big part was very poor coaching. You have brand new head coaches like Xavier, Butler, etc. doing just as well if not better than Mullin from the get go while Mullin is in year 4 with 4 and 5 star veteran players. That should be a huge indication. Also, we are losing players constantly with tons of transfers and a decommit. That's obviously another indictment on staff. Can't blame them really, if you had a son would you really trust this staff with developing them? People need to get over the nostalgia and see the objective truth. We will never advance under this staff to being a perennial contender. I was against Pitino earlier in the year, but you know what? At this point, bring him in...I don't care. Nothing has been proven against him right?

Then Mike Cragg calls Durham realtor :)

At least I'd know my limitations and that would be a huge step up for the program! I'd also be in gyms recruiting so much I'd start paying them rent. Could it really be any worse? Lol

Clearly you do not know your limitations as you got demoted for posting same things over and over like Jack Torrence in The Shining

And you repeat the same drivel being on the "Mullin can do no wrong" team. No different.

Nope never said that. Never been demoted or even warned I don't think. All I ever said was ridiculous that clowns were complaining in middle of 12-0 start. Now happy program is going bad again I guess. Guarantee you hate next coach by 2nd season! We all know you don't like Mullin. Howe about throwing out a realistic candidate that you might not complain about incessantly?

Come on guys. Please change the tone and stick to the topic.

We all know the board has a popularity contest complex and I'm not on the popular list. Has more to do with who is posting than what is posted at times. That's all I'll say about that. Congrats, you are more popular on a message board than me. Anyway, Mussleman would make 99% of people happy I would think.
