All the posters on Redmen.com can voice their negative opinions about Mullin and it will have very little effect but Mike Vacarro's article in today's Post would certainly get my attention if I were Chris. Vacarro's article basically says it is year four and Chris is not doing his job.
You will now see other reporters pick up on this opinion now that a respected journalist has voiced it and the idea of replacing Chris that to me seemed very unlikely at the beginning of the year will get some legs.
Chris should immediately increase his recruiting efforts.
TO me, what will be more important is how the team comes out to start the game. Fired up - good; lackadaisical and disorganized - very, very bad.
While of course important, it's ridiculous that we have to say that about a team that lost in just about every way possible during the past few weeks. Feels like Groundhog Day. We "lost" to Hall in a heartbreaker after blowing the lead. We blew leads against Nova and Hall. We were upset at home against DePaul. We got blown out at Butler. We lost our best player and then got him back. We've also had redemption/success in between, but every time we've achieved that we threw it away. How many more ways could we possibly lose for this team to get the message? Do we need to lose 11 in a row like last year? Do we need to play ourselves out of the Tournament first?
Going into yesterday's game, we had lost 3 of 4 games and were playing in front of a nearly sold out crowd at home. Going into Wednesday's game, we will have lost 4 of 5 games and will be playing against a sold out crowd on the road. I don't see that as a better position to be in, but who knows with this team.
This isn't directed at you ctstorm, but I'm just tired of excuses after each game, the post game quotes about needing for focus for 40 minutes, etc. It's nearly impossible to be optimistic when we keep seeing the same results.
