Well 247 does have him ranked 122 which is prob what they are referencing. Not sure of his composite ranking
They probably dropped him after he committed here.../media/kunena/emoticons/wink.png

Composite is 132 which is even lower than 24/7 and factoring in ESPN's 49 ranking the other services used (Rivals, etc.) must have him much lower than 132. That said who cares he looks like a tremendous pick up for us and his final ranking after his senior year may very well be better than current standing.

Screw these rating discrepancies and just look at programs Storr visited or considered.

Wow.

ive never been more excited about this basketball program than I am these days. This upcoming season is gonna be extremely fun and we already have reinforcements on the way in 2022. What a great time to be a fan of the Johnnies

I was shaking my head then remembered how young you are, or maybe how old I am.

Note that IMG is Storr's 3rd prep school.  Assume that's not an issue.

So I guess the "if you build it they will come" plan might actually work, huh?  Who could have seen that coming?  /media/kunena/emoticons/whistling.png

[Intentionally omitted:  links to many posts suggesting that Coach A would make the program competitive and that would help recruiting, but that a little patience was required.]

[Also intentionally omitted:  links to many posts about "bUt wHeRe aRe mUh fOuR sTaR rEcRuItS???"]

Still probably a little premature for a victory lap but it appears that we are inches away from the finish line of being a consistently relevant program for the first time in ~25 years.  It feels good!  Thanks Coach and A.D. Cragg!!!

Many of the posters, and I include myself, would pass out halfway through a victory lap.  Transfer-mania and worldwide basketball makes it very hard to predict long term relevancy.  If  Julian would have stayed in the draft, then optimism for this year would have waned, and Storr would not have had a persuasive dinner partner.  There is no doubt that this is the hardest working staff, from top to bottom, St. John's has had in a while. It is  a good reason to be bullish on the program.  I wish the basketball season could start tomorrow.

I thought that what Storr's mom noted as saying in the Post article says it all.  There was something unique St. Johns.  Her son seemed more comfortable here.  "At St. Johns, it just felt a little different.  We felt a family oriented vibe."  Thanks Coach, your positive approach was the closer here.

i felt that way about Lavin.

i remember saying he was conducting himself like a CEO, with the hires he made: Dunlap, Kady, Rico.  It was an allstar staff.

then he landed Mo, Norvelle, Sampson, etc.  It seemed like it was all coming together.

the difference here however, is that we're feeling optimism going into year 3 AND beyond.  previous 2 regimes at this point seemed to be heading into good seasons. but not necessarily building for the long-term.

today, i not only feel good about this season, but have the confidence that even after we lose JC, the following season won't be a huge plunge in expectations.

This is the polar opposite of Lavin.  The Lavin model was to continually swing for the fences on talented kids with off-the-court issues and do no coaching or development at all.  Unless you're Kentucky that is not a recipe for sustained success, it's a recipe for exactly what we got with Lavin.  And the Kentucky model is slightly different because (a) they don't have to reach for talented problem children and (b) Calipari can actually coach some.

The Anderson model is to bring in high-character kids, develop them, and coach them.  He took a couple of short-cuts with transfers last year to accelerate the process, but overall the approach could not be more different.

I am now going to go back to being happy to having our first actual professional basketball coach since Louie (Fran Fraschilla gets an asterisk).

He is a great pick up. Will be a top player in the big East. Ratings  are over-rated. There prob are players that shoot 38 % from3  and are not in the top  150 players .What matters is the total pkg
and Jaquan and Storr  have a complete game.

The key words about Lavin in your comment is "do no coaching". I screamed so may times at the TV during his era, that is etched in my eyeballs.

A true story.

Last month a long time friend went golfing by himself.  The club pro put him with a 3 some of other golfers to round out the foursome.  He was introduced to everyone by their first names.  My friend noticed  the 3 other golfers were continually talking and joking about “the transfer portal” and college basketball players. So the friend asked the 3 if they were involved with college basketball.  The golfer he had been introduced to as “Mike” was coach Anderson who he had not recognized.  He said that without knowing who he was CMA had shown himself to be very down to earth - nice, considerate person, albeit not the best golfer.  it is easy to root for CMA.
