Great environment at the game today. It was 98-99% St. John's fans.

Team didn't have it today but gutted it out. Mullin outcoached the sh*t out of Pastner. This game was won on the offensive glass. Great second half effort on D too.

Just got back from the game. Mostly SJ fans . Really nice to see the comeback , enjoyed the game. I met two 6’9 potential recruits from Palm beach county. Mitch recruits, believe it or not. One named Emanuel. Nice to see a live game in S. Fl. Ponds unbelievable. Simon was the glue guy, he was very active, he has long arms and can jump. Great D at the end .

Just as long as the recruits first name wasn't Donald. That would have a been there done that feel to it.

I forgot Pastner is the coach there. It doesn't take much to out coach him. The kid is Lavin Jr.

I got pissed off early because we get out to a very nice start and then we start giving the game away down 16. Open looks bricked every time then we started taking dumb shots 1 on 3, then when they rebounded they'd get an easy layup that we could never stop from their bigs. Then early in the 2nd it was more of the same then we finally woke up and turned up the D. This game was an absolute roller coaster...down 16 you're usually cooked and buried, so I don't understand why it's illogical to be pissed when a much better team is down 16 points and looks like it has no plan. It's as if some posters will not allow anything less than "rah-rah" all the time. Deep down of course I'm rooting for this team as hard as anyone possibly can...but that does not mean frustration is not allowed. It's part of being human.

We came out with the W so of course I'm happier now, but there are the same posters who think I am the epitome of evil because I dare to get pissed off when we play terribly during a game. That's just stupid. It's part of being human and part of being a fan of a program that has struggled in recent decades. By the way, I don't take shots...I respond when I'm shot at. Big difference. Not being the whipping boy anymore. Love that we are 7-0, but coaching is still suspect. Sue me.

Please save us from these self serving posts trying to redeem yourself. You are always "Chicken Little the sky is falling"

It wouldn’t be a close SJU game without Mean Gene giving up on the team midway through and then coming back to celebrate like nothing ever happened LOL
That’s the secret strategy Jack, works like charm every time!! 7 - 0 Baby!!!!
At least you stay around and praise the team for coming back unlike some posters.
I did not see or hear the game, I glanced once on my iPhone and we were down about 14, my heart sunk...( why do I take “my teams” so much to heart?)

Thanks St. Johnnie75, others of rational mind, and Mr. P for sharing Zach’s observation:
“7-0 is 7-0”.
Wow some of the disparaging critiques here sound as if we are 0-7.
We are not perfect.
We will accumulate Ls.
We will always lose out on some recruits.
Chris Mullin is Chris Mullin.
Are we better off than the past years?
I think yes.
Are we headed in the right direction.
I think so.
Can we just enjoy this team and this season?

All the best for a great, healthy December and holiday season for all
My fellow posters and families.
Blessings
General Sheridan

Great comeback by the team, especially great play by Shamorie & Simon in the second half. If Justin hadn't missed those two foul shots at the end, he would have played almost a perfect second half - rebounded, defended, had that great lob to Figgy and even scored a bit. I didn't get to see the VCU game, but seems like this one was almost a replay of that game for Shamorie.. Now let's get Keita healthy in time for Big East tipoff.

I thought this was more like the Cal game for Shamorie, especially WRT the efficiency. VCU game, I thought he was out of control more often, but he obviously got it right in the big moments.

Great Win! Seriously getting tiresome to always see the negativity. The whole team including Mullin are tight. Most of our fans are tight and we were rewarded with a gut check win. St Johns is a great University, the Big East is a great conference SJU history, culture and tradition will live despite these psuedo fans. Mullin really loves St Johns this cant be said for some of our posters. He is making mistakes and learning but you know his heart is in the right place! We are St Johns! Gotta love these guys!!

I don't doubt any fan on here wanting the team to win. Here's a big positive: we are winning all of these nailbiters we definitely lost last year.

Also under the radar: Dixon was great on defense in 2nd half. Several times where Alvarado could have driven past him for a layup but Dixon kept him in front of him each time I saw. He has really been playing better coming into his own which is great to see. Getting comfortable out there.

gotcha, hope you can extend "being human" to Mullin and players too, when they are not up to your standards.

Just my thoughts. For the first 10 or so minutes I thought we played real well offensively. Passing and moving and really attempting to get things going towards the basket. During their 14-0 run which came right afterwards I thought it was a combination of a few things we could have done better and just some missed shots/calls. For instance we had 2 WIDE open 3s from Dixon and LJ which didn’t drop and two solid drives by SP that I thought were fouls that didn’t get called. If any of those go in our favor the run isn’t nearly as bad. I only bring this up because during this time the boards were ripping mullin about his coaching and lack there of. There’s some things I agree with that he can do better and I yell at the tv asking him to do it from time to time but the one thing that is true regardless of who’s coaching is that there will be 5-10 minute stretches where your team looks like shit and it isn’t necessarily because the coach sucks. Happy as hell to be 7-0 and have the best guard in the country.

Totally ignorance.
