Mets

Cespedes is like a fire breathing dragon right now

I'm officially on dodger watch now

I wonder if the evil empire takes a run at Cespedes. They are due for a good old 175m 7 year contract.
wouldn't surprise me and I think the numbers you just mentioned will be right in the ballpark of what he is going to get from someone. I wouldn't even be stunned if someone went 8 and 200. My guess is the mets get to 6 and 150 and I would consider that a solid offer but probably won't get a deal done

Wow they just don't give up !

Thor was on cruise control. There would have been no harm to let him come out for 8th and pull him at the first sign of trouble. Collins and Clippard cost him the win.

Big wheel keep on turnin'

Thor pitches 7 innings gives up one run, Clippard pitches one inning gives up 3 runs blowing a 3 run lead and he gets the win. Baseball stats are muffed up. official scorer should be allowed to award the win to the started who pitched very effectively as opposed to a reliever who pitched to a 27 era.

Rule 10.17(c) states:

The official scorer shall not credit as the winning pitcher a relief pitcher who is ineffective in a brief appearance, when at least one succeeding relief pitcher pitches effectively in helping his team maintain its lead. In such a case, the official scorer shall credit as the winning pitcher the succeeding relief pitcher who was most effective, in the judgment of the official scorer.

Rule 10.17(c) Comment: The official scorer generally should, but is not required to, consider the appearance of a relief pitcher to be ineffective and brief if such relief pitcher pitches less than one inning and allows two or more earned runs to score (even if such runs are charged to a previous pitcher). Rule 10.17(b) Comment provides guidance on choosing the winning pitcher from among several succeeding relief pitchers.

I am guessing that if correct, Clippard had to be awarded the win because he completed the inning. As such Familia deserved the win by the intent of this rule.

Un-friggin-believable. This team refuses to lose.

I'm screaming for Cespedes and then Murphy rewards Collins with the 3-run bomb.

Sweeping the Nats with 3 comebacks was the sweetest, but, Christ. Down 3, no one on? 2 outs, 2 strikes? Wow

With 3008 lurking in our minds it's hard to say without any hint of superstition, "It's over", but this has been one of the three best runs in Met history (69,73). Both of those were magical, and this is magical as well.

Lets hope that it ends like 69. I actually had forgotten how fun baseball could be. Past month has been a great ride.

Actually not giving any thought at all to 3008 as I have serious doubts that I will be around at that point. ;) :) With all the great things happening with the Mets this season just hope the season doesn't wind up ending on some heartbreaking play or game.

I think this has been such an incredible ride that should they not get too far into the playoffs it's been such a drought, such a long period (2008) since we had hope, that the future with this team is very bright. It's not a one trick pony. But I would absolutely love them to be riding down the Canyon as World Champs in a tickertape parade.

I'm actually more excited to see the Mets play then the NY Giants. I haven't said that since, well never actually.

I swear I am on the phone with a friend right now and I'm telling him " watch Travis hit one out. " lol

remember all the way back to July when the Mets were lucky to get five singles in a game. Seems like years ago. This run better end with a WS appearance.

By the way maybe Verrett should just replace Harvey in the rotation. Another solid outing.

this is the 1st game I have watched Verrett start. He's definitely solid and I like Robles a lot
