Just a shame that we have 5 pitchers who give us a good chance & Niese but he's the one who gets the ball today. 20 runs in 4 starts isn't going to get it done.
 
We control Harvey until 2019 so why trade him?

Bonus win today with Niese v Scherzer. Got shelled again and they still pulled it out. Win 1 out of next 2 and mission is accomplished for the series. Win both and the Nats are in the rear view mirror for good IMO
 
The length of the baseball season makes it in some ways far superior to other sports. A pennant doesn't hinge on one game, and there are so many twists and turns in terms of team performance.

Today was a huge win just when it look like the ship sprang a leak.

Cespedes of course was huge. It's really great to see David Wright throw caution to the wind in playing as hard as he possibly can to try to help deliver a pennant. Game 1 win is huge beyond measure. Nats cut this thing to 3, and they could be in a position to catch the Mets by weeks end. This team keeps you on the edge of your seat, but they have heart.

And he has the nerve to say he had great stuff today except for that slow curve to Ramos. He is an idiot if he really thinks giving up 5 runs, 7 hits and 3 walks in 3 and a third innings warranted great stuff. Niese stinks and obviously will not be any help in this pennant chase.

I wonder what Cashman would think about that trade. Don't bash Harvey too much. He's going to be the Yankee ace in a few years. That Severino kid really does have a nice stuff. He would slot in nicely in the 5 spot in the Mets rotation. Well at least until Wheeler gets back.

Agreed. He was one of the other prospects I was thinking of. Along with the ss in A ball Mateo I think.
