Mets

Sorry, but this team is officially in a pennant race. Can't worry about a single-A prospect that apparently doesn't rank as high as some others from that level in the organization. No one wants to see Nolan Ryan type trade again, I get it. But Clippard is an elite reliever, and you have to give something to get something. I'd say this even if Mejia didn't go and do Mejia things again.

Handle the Pads two more games and that Nats series could be fun, especially with the young guns all scheduled to pitch at home. It has been over half a decade since I watched more than one or two full Mets games in a season. Now, I'm tuned in, big time.

This team has been looking to the future long enough. Bye Meisner, never even knew ya, and when you pitch that no-hitter against us as a fifth starter somewhere, I'll just hope that this season was worth it.

Syndergaard was ace tonight.

Isn't it fair to say on an SJU site enough with the Mets???
And oh yes tonight 15-5 Yankees over Texas with Chris Young, remember him, grand slam for his 12th!
Can we put baseball aside?

11 runs in the 2nd inning, after Texas got 5 in the first. This month of July has been crazy.

No. It's the dog days of summer, and honestly, this is the only thread worth reading right now. I really can't stand to see more people pine for a Maverick, making the same tired Obepka jokes, etc. If you are into a NY baseball team, this is fun stuff. It's not like this thread hijacked some thread about a high school sophomore none of us know. It's says "mets," and oh yeah, it goes in a category under "Baseball," so yeah, take yer complaints to the bosses. :)

Don't like it? Don't read it and don't comment. It's really not all that difficult

obviously you haven't seen the lobster roll or beer threads :)

Bet Mets had absolutely no idea the Mejia suspension was coming before the Clippard trade just like they had no idea Bernie Madoff was not on the level. At least this one was a smart move and violated no ethics (or laws).

Uribe pulled hamstring in celebration. got tight in the locker room. going for mri tomorrow
This is a joke, right?

:)
I'm on vacation, that's not funny. I even googled it because it's so believable. You basterd! Lol

haaa. where did you go for vacation ? drinks some beers for us
Sorry...have barely been on my phone. We're in Sandbridge Island, VA about a half-hour south of VA Beach. Right on the beach, and, yes, I've been killing beers like it's my job.

Would you guys do this trade? I don't think I would.

MLB Network Radio host and former GM Jim Bowden thinks the Brewers should send Gomez and LHP Neal Cotts to the Mets for OF Juan Lagares, RHP Rafael Montero, RHP Marcos Molina and OF Brandon Nimmo.

Yes. Done. Let's go win.

Absolutely, Gomez leads off,and has speed. Plus we need a righty bat. Granderson or Murphy can then hit second. Still could put Grandy lower in the lineup and hopefully get more runs batted in.

This is why I'd be a horrible gm because I'm on the fence with this one. He's having an off year and it seems like we are giving up a lot.

I guess I wouldn't go crazy either way with this one. In Sandy I trust when it comes to trades

Nimmo was my only hesitation. And it was brief.

I'd move conforto up to put some protection behind him and see what he can do with that

Molina as well. So hard to tell that far away.
