Mets

Hate to be this guy but I can't help it. If they fire TC I'll bet a solid 1-2k that the Mets win the WS in 2017. A new manager will do them wonders next year. This is the last you'll hear from me on this subject I promise fellas.

While he's made highly questionable decisions as of late, and it's apparent the pressure is getting to him, how can he control our offense to get them to hit with runners in scoring position? We're not as talented as last year, the offense is not there. Additionally, one of the fastest, if not the fastest player on the team is one of our starting pitcher's. That's not acceptable.

Wonder whose decision it was to have D'arnaud bunt in that situation. Probably the same one who pinch hit Ty Kelly for him the night before. Terry really has a way of boosting confidence of a struggling player.

Hope they can pull this game out in spite of TC as usual

Did you want d'Arnoud to hit? Grounds out to short every at bat. Plus I think it is a tie between our catcher and our Center fielder former right fielder for worst arm in baseball.

Before it happened I thought bunting in that situation was a horrible decision. Before he ran Harvey out there in game 5 I thought it was horrendous. Literally was shaking my head in the stadium as he ran out to cheers. Fans shouldn't be able to do a manager's job but in this case it's not hard to imagine us being more adept than TC

Kelly Johnson's homerun should have been the winning run. You ask why? Here we go again with brain dead Collins. In the 8th inning with a runner on third and one out Collins has Reed pitch to one of the best hitters in Major League Baseball, Goldschmidt. Instead of walking him to have a shot at an inning ending double play, Goldie hits a sacrifice fly. What a surprise! In addition, the D'backs had Lamb up next who has fanned 8 out of his 9 at bats. Collins has lost it.
Time to sit Granderson and d'Naurd's ass.

Wally Backman is waiting backstage in the wings

Which is exactly where Alderson will keep him.

Alderson should be fired also. The farm system is horrendous. Backman and Viola should be in New York ASAP.

Niese gave up six runs in one inning of relief today. Anderson promised us an upgrade in relieving at the trade deadline. Pretty sure Bastardo could have done the same thing.

If the Mets do not take at least 2 out of 3 against the Padres, and do not take AT LEAST 2 out of 3 against the D-Backs, then I'm done watching this team. These are must win series coming up. This team makes me sick right now.

What an anemic offense against the likes of Ray and Shipley, no runs against these losers. And speaking of losers is Syndergaard overrated? He doesn't make any batters uncomfortable, throws 98 mph which major league hitters can hit. When he gets ahead with two strikes, instead of throwing a high fastball he throws one down the middle. And his comment after the game is a beauty. "if a runner is on first with two outs and steals second and third, makes no difference to me I just focus on the hitter." Duh! Holding runners is your major problem, sometime he looks at the base runner and most times he ignores them. Makes no difference? Beginning to believe he's overrated.

Synergaard is pitching with bones chips in his elbow, which he is hoping to have taken care of at end of season. His fastball lost lost some life, which makes it hittable. Harvey's shoulder made him hittable, even though in his last start he hit 96.

In terms of holding on runner, I'm confident Noah is parroting what pitching coaches are telling him. Pretty sure that in the off season and next spring he will put in a lot of work in holding on runners.

His fastball has lost some life? You mean he 's not throwing 101mph anymore. So even though he throws 99mph he is getting hit because of bone chips? I'm sorry did he throw harder before the bone chips?
So Warthen is telling him to ignore the runners, let them run wild as evidenced by his comment last night. (" If a runner is on first with two outs and steals second and third , makes no difference to me. I just focus on the hitter.") Oh I feel much better to know he will work on holding runners in the off season. Is it too late to start now?

Pelfrey threw a 97 mph fastball that was pretty straight and batters hit it out at about 197 mph. YEa, there is a difference between a fastball that moves (has life) and one that is dead. Essentially that happened to Gooden relatively early in his career.

My thinking is that Syndergaard has trouble pitching effectively from the set position, so Warthen has told him to just focus on batters. Not defending this rationale, but Syndergaard is a great student of the game who always wants to improve.

Aren't you aware that Harvey was throwing his hardest in his last start before the DL. Velocity is really nothing without movement on a fastball. MLB hitters can all get around on a 98 mph fastball that is straight.

This manager is so old and out of touch even his post-game tirades are flaccid. The bozo says I don't care if its hot or cold outside you go out there and you play! The next day his team goes out and surrenders 5 runs in the 1st inning. Gutless team, gutless manager

I am pretty sure that if Syndegaard was facing the Mets in his next start he would have no problems.

It is August 13 and the Mets record is worse than the Yankees, and the Yankees gave up two weeks ago. Little did we know that the Mets did too.

anyone have any idea what our record is since Harvey was announced out for season ?

If I were him I'd be happy to be on the DL with this shitshow the last month or whatever it is since they announced him done for season

I am well aware of having a movement on the fastball. That is one of the reasons I broke more bats at batting practice at St.John's and had several major league tryouts before hurting my arm in my junior year. Probably had bone chips or bone spurs. Unfortunately at that time Doc Gimmler recommended sticking my arm in a Jacuzzi.
In fact Keith Hernandez criticized Syndergaard last night for his comment. Holding a man on first requires a double to score him.

Even the Phillies are closing in on the Mets, believe they have only 4 less wins but 5 more losses.
