Hate to be this guy but I can't help it. If they fire TC I'll bet a solid 1-2k that the Mets win the WS in 2017. A new manager will do them wonders next year. This is the last you'll hear from me on this subject I promise fellas.
Wonder whose decision it was to have D'arnaud bunt in that situation. Probably the same one who pinch hit Ty Kelly for him the night before. Terry really has a way of boosting confidence of a struggling player.
Hope they can pull this game out in spite of TC as usual

Did you want d'Arnoud to hit? Grounds out to short every at bat. Plus I think it is a tie between our catcher and our Center fielder former right fielder for worst arm in baseball.

Wally Backman is waiting backstage in the wings

Which is exactly where Alderson will keep him.
If the Mets do not take at least 2 out of 3 against the Padres, and do not take AT LEAST 2 out of 3 against the D-Backs, then I'm done watching this team. These are must win series coming up. This team makes me sick right now.

What an anemic offense against the likes of Ray and Shipley, no runs against these losers. And speaking of losers is Syndergaard overrated? He doesn't make any batters uncomfortable, throws 98 mph which major league hitters can hit. When he gets ahead with two strikes, instead of throwing a high fastball he throws one down the middle. And his comment after the game is a beauty. "if a runner is on first with two outs and steals second and third, makes no difference to me I just focus on the hitter." Duh! Holding runners is your major problem, sometime he looks at the base runner and most times he ignores them. Makes no difference? Beginning to believe he's overrated.

Synergaard is pitching with bones chips in his elbow, which he is hoping to have taken care of at end of season. His fastball lost lost some life, which makes it hittable. Harvey's shoulder made him hittable, even though in his last start he hit 96.
In terms of holding on runner, I'm confident Noah is parroting what pitching coaches are telling him. Pretty sure that in the off season and next spring he will put in a lot of work in holding on runners.

His fastball has lost some life? You mean he 's not throwing 101mph anymore. So even though he throws 99mph he is getting hit because of bone chips? I'm sorry did he throw harder before the bone chips?
So Warthen is telling him to ignore the runners, let them run wild as evidenced by his comment last night. (" If a runner is on first with two outs and steals second and third , makes no difference to me. I just focus on the hitter.") Oh I feel much better to know he will work on holding runners in the off season. Is it too late to start now?

Pelfrey threw a 97 mph fastball that was pretty straight and batters hit it out at about 197 mph. YEa, there is a difference between a fastball that moves (has life) and one that is dead. Essentially that happened to Gooden relatively early in his career.
My thinking is that Syndergaard has trouble pitching effectively from the set position, so Warthen has told him to just focus on batters. Not defending this rationale, but Syndergaard is a great student of the game who always wants to improve.
Aren't you aware that Harvey was throwing his hardest in his last start before the DL. Velocity is really nothing without movement on a fastball. MLB hitters can all get around on a 98 mph fastball that is straight.

It is August 13 and the Mets record is worse than the Yankees, and the Yankees gave up two weeks ago. Little did we know that the Mets did too.
