But Nyquist never hit a home run.

I am not even remotely a Terry Collins fan and even less so after another of his genius moves was the decision that Conforto's first start against a lefty would be against Baumgartner; coincidence or not, was the start of a serious tailspin for the kid.

Do you ever post anything positive, or is everyone an idiot who possesses an inferior intellect and wisdom than you?

I'm certain that Conforto will become the Steve Blass of hitters as a result. He should have been kept a 23 year old platoon player and groomed to be the next Art Shamsky. :)

You're kidding right? You expect Conforto to remain hot 24/7? He's had a rough start to the month, but the kid is our future. He couldn't possibly keep the production up. He will bounce back.

You still mad Terry left Harvey in last October?

In baseball, guys lose jobs based on decisions that result in bad outcomes. If Buckner snared a wicked liner by Mookie Wilson and saved the game, McNamara would have been a genius. Had Harvey struck out the side in the WS when he wanted the ball, he'd have been proclaimed the ultimate gamer who wanted the ball, and Collins a manager who didn't want his shaky bullpen to give up another lead so went with his bulldog. Baseball is most effectively analyzed in hindsight, where every decision that doesn't work out can be criticized as another dumb move.

Any of you guys going to the Nat series next wed ? I'm going with friends from work but might be there around 6 in case anyone is tailgating

The Mets are 18-7 since the 2-5 start. Different players are going to be hot different times.

Thanks for that very insightful stat completely irrelevant to my post. I also realize that players go into slumps, hence the use of the word coincidence; it doesn't change the fact that IMO it was another stupid move by Collins which was my only point.

"
FWIW, and coincidentally, in DC and watching Nats/Phillies and in-between 4th and 5th innings a sideline report on the difference Murphy has made in the Nats clubhouse with snippets from Zimmerman, Espinoza, and Harper talking about the professionalism he has brought. Harper, whose ego almost matches Harvey's, was the most exuberant in his praise. It is very early but as Yogi said (paraphrasing) sometimes it "gets late early"."

I was responding to your post a few weeks ago that sometimes it gets late early. The Mets are now in first place and Murphy is still hitting .400. Wonder what might happen when he cools off.

Noah Syndergaard, ladies and gentlemen, woooooow

In some corner in heaven
, seated at a bar where the players can't drink because that's where he drinks, a impish old man with a twinkle in his eye hopped of his stool and taking a bow and kept saying "Amazin', simply amazin'."

Screw Terry Collins for being the manager of the first consistently good mets team in years. How dare he take away our misery and actually make the mets watchable? Who does he think he is?

And I heard he's not even starting Thor in the field tonight! We need his bat! Fire him! If he doesn't start Thor itll make him cold and he won't hit two home runs a game ever again.
