Mets 2024 Season

The Orioles are a good young team that needs to stop crying on every single call. Yes the umpiring sucks but it sucks for everyone. I got the feeling they were more concerned with that than winning.

The Mets season will be defined by the next 10 games 4 with the Friars and 3 with the DBs and then the crappy WSox.

Hey idiot, the Phillies won

Mets 1.5 out
This has been a very bizarre MLB season. I am sure if you read message boards of each of the playoff/contending teams, they would be equally negative as we are in this thread. Hell, look at the Yankees thread on this very message board!

Just a ton of mediocrity. That's probably the main reason I haven't lost hope yet. The guys do play for each other, which is an important trait. Nunez coming back today will be a monumental lift to this bullpen.

Also, re-sign Manaea. He may have figured it out.

Rising up my list of favorite Mets of all time. When I was a kid, Cliff Floyd was my GOAT, it'll be hard to displace him as my all time favorite Met, but I just love everything about Lindor. His personality, his joy when playing the game. He has a few plays in the field every week that make your jaw drop. Hitting wise, he has ups and downs, sometimes his trigger happy approach at the plate can frustrate me, but you can't deny the results this year since he was moved to leadoff. And to top it all off, he has multiple clutch moments this season that stick out in my mind.

1-8 after sweeping us btw. Makes me nervous for this road trip. If we looked that poor in Seattle, I hope we can be competitive in San Diego and Arizona

It’s funny how your favorite players (of all-time) will reflect your age. Despite who he is now, I will always love Lenny Dykstra. I was 9 in ‘86 and his walk-off in the NLCS was one of my first live TV going nuts moments and his first pitch HR off Oil Can Boyd in game 3 brought me off the ledge immediately. When they traded him and McDowell (who was another one of my favorites) for Juan goddamned Samuel, I was devastated. Loved HoJo too. I wore 20 on my soccer jersey for him for awhile. Hell, I used to swing my metal bat under water because of Gregg Jeffries lol. Baseball was definitely my favorite sport as a kid.

That walk off might have gotten Winker going, he looked great last night at the plate. big big win.

Time to beat Musgrove, who I still think cheated against us in the wildcard two years ago and I've hated him ever since

What's with Musgrove's ears? : r/baseball

Stayed up all the way. Multiple west coast trips are killing me. Great win but I could do without the Brazoban experience. Ironically the Padres had a guy named Hoeing they acquired from the Marlins who was lights out. Where was Stearns when that guy was traded? Mets are 4-0 vs Friars and have clinched the season series but are still 4.5 behind them. Take 2/3 at least would be great start. We’ll see.

The game was still on when I woke up. I got to catch the 8th and 9th this morning at the gym. Glad to see them take a big win. The next 6 games are huge.
