Mets 2024 Season

Don't feel bad for the Yanks. We'll be fine. All the pressure on the Muts. Let's see how that vaunted pitching staff holds up. BTW, no sour grapes here. The $$$ is ridiculous. Everyone knew Soto would keep going back to Cohen for more, and that's just what he did.

The Mets were the front runners from day one because Soto will sell more tickets ,probably add four thousand fans a game spending a hundred bucks a game which will pay half his salary. He would have had little effect on the Dodgers who come close to selling out every game and would not have had as much an effect on the Yankees as it will on the Mets.
After jersey sales, the Mets may introduce ten more next year Cohen will be making more money.

Apparently the Yankees offered Soto 16 years $760 million. Slightly less than the Mets. So they went all in for him too and did not think the money was ridiculous.

I will gladly take Soto and the pressure that comes with it. The Mets are not done. They are aiming for the the Dodgers, not the Yankees.

Genuinely excited to see what the Mets do next. They have some good young players that they can keep (Jett, Gilbert, Mauricio, Acuna) or trade (Baty). Truthfully, I wouldn’t mind flipping some minor leaguers for minor leaguers type deals to get some young pitching. Mets have lots of options right now with a GM like Stearns who is good at finding value.

What a time to be a Mets fan.

Only in true Yankee fan fashion would they come on this thread and throw digs on a night like tonight. Zip it and take the L you LOSERS. And please remember this night. Let it sear in your puny little brains, as the night when Steve Cohen rubber stamped the Mets as New York’s team from here on out. LGM!!

We got a true middle of the order stud for the next 5 years. If he hits that what he can get our or we lock him in for a decade for 50m more. Not my money, so I like it.

It’s comical all the fans saying for that money you can get 3-4 studs. That isn’t true. The total contract doesn’t matter. It’s 50m per year. You could get two (very) good players for that money.

I still expect another bat and stud pitcher. We aren’t done here:

You're right. Now I feel the pressure. Damn it, the Yankees always get the best of us! Now we will proably lose Alonso to you guys also.

Michael Conforto just signed 1yr $17m with the Dodgers. His numbers last year:
20/66/.237

With the inflated salaries, I’m not even sure you could get 2 very good players.

That’s what I said (very) good. The average/slightly above is going for 15-25. Heck we just paid 13m to get a reliever we hope and can become a starter. Sure fire thing to help you for 50m doesn’t sound so bad in this market d

thats wild... .237 gets you 17mm... leaving to take my kid out of school right now and heading to the cages lol

Let’s just say that Mr. Steinbrenner is no longer around. However the Mets will find a way to screw this up as well….. Can you say Verlander?
You mean, us having an owner who's adept enough to eating a lot of his deal and trading him midway through the year for two top 75 prospects ... something you know the Yanks are too cheap and not smart enough to do
