Peterson threw just 8 pitches last night. Iād imagine that + the warmup was comparable to his normal side. He should be pretty close to 100%.Mets rolling the dice. I like it. We have nothing to lose. Maybe Peterson but Megill? If Senga isnāt sharp then you use Megill in backup. I believe heās on the roster for NLDS?
I realize I look at things much differently than a lot of people but I canāt believe one inning two days prior would cause anyone to not be 100%.Yeah I'm thinking they go with Peterson after since he probably wouldn't be 100% after closing last night.
Just saw Peterson press conference. Heās said he is ready to go. Maybe they do Senga for a couple and then Peterson. (Like you said) Hope they can build up Senga for later in Series or dare I say NLCS. Probably also presses the Fillies on how they configure their lineup with whole lefty/righty thing.Peterson threw just 8 pitches last night. I like the idea of a righty for 2 innings, then a lefty for 5-6 with our righty-dominant bullpen.
I've always been a fan of the bullpen start when the pitcher piggybacking throws from the other side. Ideally, 2 from Senga and then 6 from Peterson so we can hand it to Diaz and bypass the rest of the bullpen. Maybe 3 from Senga if there is a game 5? Only 25 pitches in his last bullpen session for Senga is not encouraging at all. I don't know how he can go from pitching 5 1/3 just 70 days ago to 25 pitches. He had a shin strain...couldn't he throw from his knees to keep his arm strength up?Just saw Peterson press conference. Heās said he is ready to go. The Mets roller coaster is in full swing. All aboard.

The circle of trust in the bullpen is incredibly small. Right now, I trust Stanek, Butto off of 2-3 days rest, and Diaz. That's it.
86-69 this year. You gotta believeDid not think this is real. Crazy.

Amazing. The only problem with this is in a āshortā series the Fillies have better starting pitching. Namely Wheeler. They can start him twice. During a āseasonā depth wins out. On top of that the Mets and MLB put themselves in a tough scheduling position. Of course we donāt know if itās better to keep playing or rest. Weāve seen teams flame out after sitting around watching the WC.
Also it eff's with their head. If Senga pitches a solid 2 or 3 innings and the Mets win over Wheeler, they come back with him in game 5 with one more bullet in their holster and one that may have the Phillies thinking this ain't their year. If it doesn't work today quick hook and the potential reward was greater than potential risk. Brash smart underdog move.Peterson threw just 8 pitches last night. Definitely, but I do think it should show that this is more of a 50-50 series than the pundits believe. Playoffs are all about momentumAmazing. Doesnāt mean Mets canāt win. Playoffs are different.
