For whatever reason, Owens and BA seem to spend a lot of time on the floor. Guess it's lack of balance and strength.
 
Marquette Zone befuddled us tonight . Could not solve it . Marquette will be trouble next year too . They have more athletic players . Clunker !
 
Did anyone hear the announcers say Lovett is back in California and is planning to transfer?

Yes he is back in California, but he is not transferring. It’s already been announced he’s leaving to go pro.

Those same announcers who said we were a great rebounding team and who with two minutes left and sju die. By 17 notes that we made a costly turnover. The announcers were awful tonight!
 
Have to give Marquette credit, they played good defense on Ponds tonight. Made him force shots inside. Markus Howard’s replacement is a much much better defender than Howard.
 
Owens isn’t athletic , Ahmed isn’t that athletic . Clarke is slow and can’t jump . And , Simon and Ponds has a rare bad game at the same time . We had no answer for Marquette zone and could not get Ponds to the hoop . Trimble was great ! Our D sucked too! Worst played game in a month . We looked like a last place team tonight . MQ freshman showed a lot tonight . Athletic and long and quick . They will be good next year .
 
a total of 4 rebounds and 9 points combined from Bashir and Owens and we are not going to win a game against anyone.

Ahmed so disappointing this year. Owens was terrible tonight. I’m the only one who cares, but wish Yakwe would get done burn. His not playing suggests there must be some discord which is a shame.

Don't listen to announcers....they read cliff notes before & the game and screw up a lot of what they recall seeing.

Age is nothing... I think that guy Marin Maric on DePaul is like 58 years old
 
Marquette played a great game. They made the most of their possessions. They played a nice zone and really stifled Shamorie at the top of the key. They won the last minute of the half and came out ready to win in the 2nd. Good confidence boost for Trimble. Bashir and Owens looked a step off today and that affected their whole game. We have to learn how to attack the zone better. NIT is still within reach
 
Man this board let me have it when I said our win against Marq was big because they were a tough match up for our D. I think it showed tonight. They played very well and a lot of our guys had forgettable nights.

It stinks, but I think we match up better with SHU (they can't hit the 3 and we can hack-an-angel with Yakwe and AA if need be) and could pull of a victory to get us out of last before the BET.
