@Marquette, Sat., Feb. 10, 6p, FS-1

Season isn't over yet we still have a chance just a couple of wins and we are in. Not disappointed as the only team/game we were embarrassed was seton hall. Past couple years we were embarrassed just for being on the court
Truth, I'd rather be embarrassed then lose like this.

With CMA we knew they were going to be bottle of the league, so it didn't really rather me, and they were blowouts.

This year thinking of all the games that we should have won.

@ Uconn - We had a good lead, until Danny had what seemed like a 5 minute chat with the ref. I went to store and came home and they were chatting for a while, I seriously started thinking "did something happen in the stands, but nah it was just Danny being Danny.
If I was Rick I would have snapped and asked wtf is this chitty chat about? We have a game to play.

Then at Creighton, we had a good lead until the refs took over in the 2nd half.

We could have damn well beat Marquette at MSG.

And finally tonight where we blew a 15 pnts lead.

In all of these games they had us believing, then get our hearts torn to pieces in the end.

If we could have just went 2-2 in those 4, we'd be 8-5 right now, damn it.

Soriano is better?
First of all that's not what I said, but now that you mention it, yes Soriano is better. He's playing like crap right now but he's an all-Big East level player. If both Zuby and Soriano hit the portal right now, which player do you think other schools would go after first? So yeah, he's better in spite of how disappointing he's been lately.

Some of you guys have an awfully short memory.

He was our best defender early in the season and hits jumpers at a high %. Coach seems to have murdered his confidence for reasons beyond me
Should not blame the coach for lack of hustle and ability to catch the ball.
I do not care how much he scores but lack of effort and hustle ( rebounding ) their is no excuse.

How can you be mad when we played one of the best teams In the country even for 37 minutes in their house.
We are a good team.
If it was just this game , I wouldn't be mad, but how many leads have we blown this year?
Good teams don't constantly blow leads like we're doing this year, good teams dig down and find a way to win some of them games.

Taylor will benefit from playing with quicker guards in the open court next year. He’s not suited to be grinding out half court possessions 40 times a game.

Just watched post game press conference. RP is obviously frustrated and pissed. Very short press conference.

EDIT: just watched Kolek post game press conference…paraphrasiing his comments ” they hit a couple of 3s and we had to come out of the zone and after that it was BBQ Chicken”

Frustrating when in the first half you are passing well, rebounding well and shooting well. Then in the second half you turn into DePaul.
Did we turn ourselves into DePaul, or did a top team turn us into them? One is probably better than the other, but both suck for different reasons.

Do you think he’s coming back though?

He went from 23 mpg in November/December down to 13 in January — along with some healthy DNPs.

The reply was in reference to Zubys free throw shooting Soriano is not appreciately better.

We took a very solid position a few weeks ago to prob being on the wrong dude of the bubble now. But we can still make a run. It’s possible. But I don’t see the urgency from some guys who could make a difference. So, it’s a very uphill climb right now. Not looking like a tourney team.
I don't see a run happening, they could have a 10pnt lead at PC with 8 minutes to go, and would find a way to lose that.
Heck, that almost happened at MSG Vs. Providence.

Agree, refs let both teams play equally IMO. Best reffed game I’ve seen in quite some time actually.
A loosely called game generally benefits us plus it’s much more enjoyable to watch. After the T I thought they were going to get whistle happy and they didn’t. As I am trying to stick to the positives, I will just say it was an A+ job by the officiating crew.

Job #1 after Kolek hit his first 3 at the start of the 2nd half.....assign players to deny him the ball. Never happened. Not Jenkins, not Dingle and certainly not Alleyne.
Job #2 was to put a firecracker in Soriano's ass but what came out was another frijole.
This captain does not inspire his team nor does he seem to get into position to receive the ball.
We played great against a top 10 team in a hostile environment and Pitino imparted a few teaching moments on players like Soriano and Jenkins near the end.
Crazy as it sounds, this team has the talent to go undefeated until the BE tournament or Soriano can just give up and serve us up more frivolous.
Such a frustrating player in big games!
I'm convinced Taylor is on someone's payroll not score any points. His best move is shaking his moppy head. Portal player in the making?

How is Taylor someone you decide to single out? He played four minutes!

I agree with the rest of your post 100%

I’ll assume each individual player will be back until they enter the portal.

There are a ton of minutes being vacated with Jenkins, Dingle, Alleyne, and Ledlum leaving. Pitino likes playing Luis at the 4. He’s not going to find a better situation at the high major level.

Pitino will likely tell him “sorry kid we disnt have the guards to play the type of game I recruited you for.”

I tried to convince myself Dingle would break out. The dream is officially dead. Biggest disappointment of a player we’ve had in the new millennium. He was completely lost on defense and can’t shoot.
