@Marquette, Sat., Feb. 10, 6p, FS-1

Alleyne uncontested layup to tie at 3:25 was a complete game changer. Went to two possession game on next Marquette possession followed by Ledlum’s missed very contested but makable layup and Marquette scores and went from a gimme layin to tie to down 6 in a minute. Game set match.
Tough, tough loss but no complaints here, played hard and hung tough until the above sequence. WAY too much Kolek for the bad guys and no Soriano for the good guys. And Marquette maintained great 3 point shooting for the entire game.

Competitive game, lose by 10. Exactly what I predicted. This is who we are. That isnt changing this year unfortunately.

We prob arent dancing and it really doesnt matter. This team isnt any good and would be a quick out anyway.

Rick needs to get much better players in here next year or this is going to happen again. We need a major influx of talent.

Just finished watching this. Depressing. Did not expect us to win this going in, but also did not expect us to have a 15 point lead and proceed to blow it.

What is Pitino thinking with his substitution patterns? And once again, Soriano proved that he is overrated.

We had good enough talent for 37 minutes

Soriano 1-4, 2 points. including two missed uncontested lay ups. Taylor zero across the board (his game went on vacation with Sorianos) …Dingle 2 for 8…. He’s a special player alright.

Jenkins 9-19, 4-9 from 3, 23 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists…. But he sucks right?

Luis 13 points 6-13, 3 rebounds and an assist….. who needs him.

🤪

This team is less than the sum of its parts. There’s ample talent here. Hasn’t meshed. And too few have committed to play hard 40 minutes. Several have grossly underperformed history and expectations. Rick has to be second guessing himself of what he saw in Joel to single him out but stay. Seems like he’s quit. If he has some kind of injury then it can be excused. But it seems to be a matter of motor, attitude and commitment. Doesn’t make him a bad guy just a bad captain. Good news is coach gets to start over with 6 scheduled departure. I have no doubt that he’ll succeed in his stated goal of winning here. Disappointingly it’s going to take longer.

I’m anxious to see how these guys respond and finish the season.

I want to see brady and wilcher playing major minutes the rest of the season. Guys who wont be here next year need to have their minutes cut dramatically.

Agreed. Just cannot have a melt down when they lose to Marquette in a tight one
Bobby, it’s not just this loss. It’s a culmination of everything that we’ve seen from this team this year. This team refuses to do all the things that need to do to win games that have nothing to do with talent. It’s effort, it’s will, it’s desire, it’s a sense of urgency. This group outside of Jenkins has none of that.

Would be shocked if Taylor is here next year. Would love to know what he did to take Alleyne’s spot in the dog house
