@Marquette, Sat., Feb. 10, 6p, FS-1

Obi Toppin stylin and not profiling. Highly recommend everyone to watch the Knicks once fully healthy. You’ll see guys who hustle, play together, emphasize D, and are clutch.

It’ll make this season easier to handle

Soriano ….. biggest disappointment of the sea

Soriano is definitely a Big East player, and a very solid one at that. But he’s not captain of a Big East team level good. There’s way too much on his plate and it’s showing.
Agree. When he’s on the bench there is more energy on the floor. A captain should be the energy of the team. He focuses on his game not the teams

So much for the improved D in the second half…..48 points??????????? Well as they say in commercials…..

It’s February, do you know where your team is??🤬

NCN always an honest, objective guy
Have to say that the eternal optimist is no longer the least bit optimistic as to how this season will end. You just can't win with only one guy who is up to the big moments. Do not expect to dance and frankly we don't deserve to. I know we were playing #7 team at home but when you need ONE big win in a season and are up 15, you need to close it out.

We are not a top 10 team yet. Marquette lost to Purdue and one other team at home this year. Not an easy task

I think Pitino is great, but in the transfer era, I’m not sure comparing this to Pitino’s prior teams is analogous.
If RP can't resurrect the program then no one can unless you get Lebron James to coach the team.

We were up 15 but you have to assume MQ would make a run in their house.

With that said, the 2nd half defense was non existent - especially down the stretch. Game was tight with 1:30 left (down 5). I don’t understand why Soriano was in game for the last 3-4 minutes. The switches he causes all game long and inability to stay in front of anybody was reason enough to play Zuby down stretch. In fairness to Joel, he isn’t getting many touches, henice the dip in scoring - but he doesn’t appear to be working hard enough on the glass. Should be told, if you’re not scoring, you need to rebound. Otherwise, you sit.

Not sure what Dingle doesn’t understand about “moving without the ball”. RP was explicit after last game or so that he wanted Dingle to move w/o ball more. Watching him closely, he seems to move leisurely and wait for ball to come to him, with very few catch and shoot opportunities.

Despite all of the above, we could have won this game. IMO, the ultimate cause of death was Alleyne’s missed layup.

I’m glad I didn’t get to watch this game. Let’s face it. We are not going 5-2 in the last 7 games. We’ll be lucky to go 4-3. Unless we win the BET we are not getting an NCAA Tournament bid, nor do we deserve one.

I know people on this site will rip me but Pitino has to take some heat here. This team blows too many close games and doesn’t play defense for 40 minutes. From what I read in the game thread, the same thing happened tonight. The effort it seems is just not there for 40 minutes. Some of that has to be on the coach and staff. They lose these games because they just don’t give defensive effort for 40 minutes. That has nothing to do with talent.
