@Marquette, Sat., Feb. 10, 6p, FS-1

I think it is time to shorten the rotation. Admittedly Joel had a bad game today, but Zuby is so much more athletic and active on the boards.

Gotta play Ledlum because he get offensive rebounds and hustles his ass off.

Jenkins is the best player. No one tries harder.

Luis is the wild card. Which Luis shows up.

Off of todays game Alleyne gets the call.

My bench players would be Joel, because you need another big, Conway because he hustles and can shoot, and Dingle because he can supposedly score. He played a short bench today, but no more Drissa and Taylor for the next six games.

Love Ledlum but he needs to play inside 15 feet…His missed 3s always seem to be in the middle of the oppositions run

I just don't understand how you can allow a team to shoot 56% from the field and 52% from 3. That is unfathomable and inexcusable to me.
Just off the numbers I would agree but Kolek was just phenomenal in the 2nd half, shooting himself and dishing for layups or great shots in rhythm. I thought he won that game more than St. John’s lost it.

I thought Jenkins played another great game offensively. He took a ton of smart shots and really benefitted from some inside-out looks from our offensive rebounds.

Zuby will 100% be a bigger net positive as a junior than Soriano is this year.

The only one who can stop Luis at this level is himself.

We just don’t have the backcourt to beat very good teams. We can’t stop anybody.

Kolek looked unstoppable.

Alleyne uncontested layup to tie at 3:25 was a complete game changer. Went to two possession game on next Marquette possession followed by Ledlum’s missed very contested but makable layup and Marquette scores and went from a gimme layin to tie to down 6 in a minute. Game set match.
Tough, tough loss but no complaints here, played hard and hung tough until the above sequence. WAY too much Kolek for the bad guys and no Soriano for the good guys. And Marquette maintained great 3 point shooting for the entire game.
accurate analysis, we going toe to toe with after their big run. one team was going to break, unfortunately Alleyne's miss started ours.

Bobby, it’s not just this loss. It’s a culmination of everything that we’ve seen from this team this year. This team refuses to do all the things that need to do to win games that have nothing to do with talent. It’s effort, it’s will, it’s desire, it’s a sense of urgency. This group outside of Jenkins has none of that.
I agree. But they are competing in most games and had a chance to win most other than seton hall and that has to give us some hope. We do not have a player that can take over on crunch time but I still think most BE teams will not want to play us in the tournament.

5 more Big East wins and we will have officially won our most conference games since Steve Lavin's first season. It hasn't been pretty this year but if Pitino's first season has us performing better in BE than we did the last 13 years... thats progress to me that I will take

What I am worried about is whether or not we will be on an “upward trajectory” as we enter next season. I think keeping a core of Zuby, Dunlap, Wilcher and Luis is a good start with some decent recruits already signed. However sounds like Luis got one foot out the door so who really knows what the team will look like when the offseason dust settles
Luis is a bit of a meat head. Do you know whats bothering him?
Agree. When he’s on the bench there is more energy on the floor. A captain should be the energy of the team. He focuses on his game not the teams
Joel is a nice player, but he's not athletic. He perfers not to be guarded.
