On Bracket Matrix:
Belmont is currently 2nd team out. UNCG 5th. Toledo 6th. St. Mary's 7th. Furman and Lipscomb 9th/10th. The main reason for this is that there simply aren't any other teams to put there. Indiana, Creighton, Georgetown, and Alabama are the only major conference teams within the first 10 out. I don't think one loss would drop us below teams like Belmont, especially since the Xavier loss only appeared to move us down one spot or so.
I could see Belmont making it, but I think most likely they won't. The Committee almost never puts those type of teams (mid-major top 50 RPI/NET teams) in over major conference teams. NET is a new system, but I don't see them completely overhauling how they select teams, especially if it means less $$$ for them. If it comes down to St. John's vs Belmont, and most agree that St. John's has the better resume, can anybody really see them choosing Belmont?
