Agree Monte, too many fouls and sloppy with the ball

Oh my god. They just hit a 3-pointer.

Oh lord, I’m getting nervous...our lead is down to 24 points. Pins and needles.

They go up 33 at start of 2nd half and they start playing stupid ball. Maybe I’ve watched a little to much Bama football the past few years, but once Bama puts a game out of reach, Saban has his kids play to start preparing for the next game. That’s how championship teams are built. We are so far superior to this Loyola team. I’m not saying we should have run up the score(they may outscore us in the 2nd half), but we should have played fundamentally sound ball after we went up big. We didn’t.

Monte...you’re comparing our basketball program to Alabama’s football program...really? We’re like 38-60 the past 3 seasons.

We had a 25-Point lead at halftime. It was up to 30 plus at one point. It’s the first game of the season. Relax. Do yourself that favor.

Comparing the mindset of winners vs. losers.
Glad Earlington and Roberts saw some time. I think Roberts could give us some minutes.
Yeah might have to. Keita just fouled me while I was typing this.

Lol ok monte got it. Sorry we didn’t curb stomp them once we were up 33 like your boy Saban would have.
Maybe you had money on the game. If that’s the case then I’m sorry.

Thankfully I laid off the game. Don’t really care how much we win by, care that we stay focused and away from bad habits. We can afford to play sloppy ball for a half against the Loyolas of the college basketball world, but not against big east competition. Know I’m nitpicking, but don’t like being outscored in a half by a team that we are so far superior to.

Hahaha
Simon, Dixon, Williams, Earlington, Roberts.
Dixon had a good game. The other 4, including Simon, struggled. Big concern at the non-existent 5 position. Mullin rightfully started his best five players but from the two games so far Keita is no Owens and bigger teams will take it inside.
The good news is that there is a lot of time to tighten things up and Keita can be brought along slowly. Simon and Trimble may be having a more difficult time adjusting to the new triumvirate. Add the smooth Mikey Dixon to that triumvirate and both Simon and Trimble will have to up their games to make meaningful contributions. I am confident Simon will.

Watching this team play is like watching a taped game in fast forward mode. So many athletes that keep coming at you. I don't know how we will look when we get in half court games, which teams will want to see happen. Figgy reminds me more of Felipe Lopez than James Scott. Not just because he is Dominican. He plays with a high energy level and has a great nose for the ball. Seems like a great teammate and plays hard all the time, and plays a team game.

I didn't think Williams struggled. He made one bad attempt on offense but otherwise looked pretty solid especially for a frosh. I was thinking forward to next season with Simon, Fig and Williams that is three high flyers that get up and down the court in a flash.

Wasn't able to watch the game in NC, but Simon has proven he won't struggle against top level competition. Not worried about him at all. Looking forward to seeing the new guys (Keita, Dixon, Heron, Figgy & Williams) play on Friday. One thing stands out like a sore thumb from stat sheet - we can't be committing 26 fouls and allowing the other team to shoot 32 foul shots if we want to win against good teams.
