Loyola (Maryland), Tue. Nov. 6, 6:30p, FSN / 570 WMCA

Rumble
Going into halftime, St. John's leads Loyola (MD) 48-23. Ponds leads all scorers with 16 off of 7 of 11 from the field. Every Johnnie that has shot the ball has scored tonight (not shots for Keita, Trimble, or Simon) -DGC #SJUBB

Trimble got a lot of PT first half too. Williams maybe 5 or so min? looked solid and made his first bucket after being WAY ahead of everyone long assist from Ponds

Very unusual stat line for Simon in first half: 0 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 0 steals. Looks like he was kind of MIA in first half or maybe he sat a lot with 2 fouls? Anyway, blow out in first half and good half by Ponds, just what doctor ordered.

I thought the charge on Simon was a bad call but he looked a little sloppy as he did in the first half in the exh game. Came out better in second and I expect the same from him.

I am really pissed they gave up so many points in the first half. It was like a scoring fest for Loyola.

didnt score but great ball movement that possession getting clark to the line

Panther nailed the LJ comparison a while ago. LJ better version of James Scott

Yes, poor competition, but you have to be impressed with the athleticism & firepower of this group. If they commit to defend they may be like those Louisville defenses, deflecting everything & forcing turnovers. One game, but very nice!

I would like to see Earlington and Roberts get some light in the last 10 min of this game

What’s not to love after a performance like this. Hope they clean the Non Conference slate through the rest of 2018 just like this!

Hate to piss on everyone’s parade, but they’ve played us even this half. We’ve gotten really sloppy. Not acceptable.
