It's interesting to look at how some of these kids are doing this year. They all took a step down in competition, and it's been mixed results, to say the least. (This is not to try and prove we shouldn't have tried to retain any of them):

Rysheem Dunn (Robert Morris) - quit the team
Isaih Moore (Southern Miss) - 11.1 pts, 6.3 rebounds, 1.2 assists this year, 9.2 pts, 4.8 rebounds, 0.8 assists last year
Vince Cole (Coastal Carolina) - 15 pts, 3.3 rebounds, 1 assist this year, 8.7 pts, 2 rebounds, 1.1 assists last year
Greg Williams (Louisiana) - 6.6 pts, 2 rebounds, 2 assists (also shooting 29% from 3) this year, 9.5 points, 2.1 rebounds, 2.1 assists last year (44% from 3)
Marcellus Earlington (San Diego) - 13.4 pts, 6.6 rebounds, 1.1 assists (34% from 3) this year, 6.8 pts, 4.1 rebounds, 0.7 assists last year (40% from 3)
David Caraher (High Point) - quit the team
Josh Roberts (Manhattan) - 7.9 pts, 5.4 rebounds, 0.2 assists this year, 2.6 pts, 2.7 rebounds, 0.4 assists last year
John McGriff (Binghamton) - 10.6 pts, 3.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists this year, 0.7 pts, 0.6 rebounds, 0.6 assists last year

Plus all playing down at least one level.

Amazing stat for our old friend Josh Roberts - had 20 points today on 10-10 shooting and 7 rebounds.
Josh’s playing time went down last season as the season progressed and he could not have felt too good. Right now he is playing by far the best ball of his career. I am delighted for him as he is a real good kid. Thrilled he is ending his career on such a high note.
Has another year if he wants (Covid)

Agreed, but also accurate.

Greg’s La. team won first round game in league tourney. He started and had 12 points. Apparently once again he had nagging injury a good part of the season

Coastal Carolina lost in first round of their Tourney and Cole had 17 points.

It appears likely none of the SJ transfers will dance this year unless a team like Greg’s or Duke’s makes a big run.

Greg needs to hire Tom Brady's guru. TB probably isn't much to look at at the beach, but he transformed himself into an un-injurable rubber man.

Marcellus’ season over after loss. He had six points and five rebounds & for year was 13/6

Obviously not the player wheeler is but would have provided musclenup front and was a solid citizen here. We missed him this season. Nice to see him have a solid season at the right level for him.

Ukrainian club BC Prometey has withdrawn from BCL. They were 25-1 in the Ukrainian League.

It was announced by club's president Volodymyr Dubinskyi

All teams (2 basketball + youth + women's volleyball) are disbanded at the moment

Americans D’Angelo Harrison (@DeeHarrison21), DJ Stephens (@DdotJAY30), DJ Kennedy (@bigplaydj1), Sean Evans (@shizzy5) and Chris Dowe are set to become free-agents.

Not sure what is going on, but all Americans playing in Russia should come home. Now is not the time to be playing basketball for the enjoyment of a Russian Dictatorship.

All of the players on that team were taken out of Ukraine last week and put up in a hotel in Czech Republic to continue to train and practice. But with this announcement it seems like they will either return to US or try to hook up with another team. I have not heard from the players yet.

15 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for Greg W with his La. team winning quarterfinal game v one seed Texas St. Well traveled Jordan Brown, former SJU recruit, had 31 pts for La.

Think Anderson's biggest error this year was that he had available muscle for up front, Wusu, and misused it in backcourt where lack of ballhandling cost us repeatedly.

Good for Greg & the Raging Cajuns. Thue finished lower/mid pack in a league where none of the teams are overpowering and likely have a better shot at running the table than we do.  Hope to see Greg playing against App State (my son's school) in a final where I'd be happy no matter which team won!
