Jordan Status?

To me calling someone that homophobic slur gets you suspended. It's 2014 you ingrate bum. I'm gonna miss DLO, Dom and CO to an extent, but that;s not enough for me to bite my tongue saying I can't wait to clean house. Been an abysmal 4 years.

At risk of being castigated, I must say, injury or not, I can't wait for the door to hit his rear end & he is out of here. Talented, but he's too high maintenance for my blood. He apparently has a different set of rules than teammates & there is always drama with him.

Wonder what the line in Vegas is regarding him being off the roster when
the Big East Championship starts?

Forgot its 2015...makes it even worse RJ!

I wouldn't look too much into those tweets. That's stuff you see all day everyday on Twitter. It's just kids being kids

Unfortunately you are wrong. It's not kid's being kids when you are a representation of your school. Knowing the way things are run, they may let him continue being a "kid" which is one of the many unfathomable problems this program has.

Sheed is the one kid who isn't mature enough to use twitter during the season and he's the one kid who is allowed.

Ha.

Castigated or not, you are right on the money. There was a reason he was still available and we have seen it first hand many times.

I think Lav has been plenty patient with him. He's been through tough times granted, but so have most of the other guys on the team. The kid has talent, but but he immature on and off the court. Losing him for the Hall game turned our season around. His teammates dont need to look far from whos all in with this program. Same was said for Lindsey years back ( another Philly kid ). Lets cut our losses and focus our practice on running the team with Branch, DLo, Greene, Obekpa, and Dom starting with JDR, Amar, Balamou, and Stewart off the bench for minutes. This is the reality of this team. Lets except it, focus on having these guys on the bench giving us quality minutes and WIN!!!! Jordan has been more problems than he is worth, and WILL NEVER get drafted. He will be a D-League player for life! If a quality player and person like DJ Kennedy cant make it to the league, Jordan has no shot. I wish DJ was on this team. That being said..the magic number is still 21 wins going into the BE touney. Now, we have a ton of work to do. We will see. Im gonna support this team till the end and complain all summer if Im wrong...lol.
Go Johnnies !!!

It's really funny though how the media gives a pass to famous liberals, such as Alex Baldwin, who have used homophobic slurs when challenging an adversary's manhood. It's flat out dumb to use social media for such language, and Jordan is far from the first person in the public eye to do so. However, if you were going to ban everyone who has ever used a homophobic slur in conversation from Redmen.com, I'd be willing to venture that there wouldn't be many users left standing. Not that it justifies using that sort of language, but more in the category of he who is without sins.

My guess is that calls for Jordan's exit is mightily hypocritical. Had we raced to a 6-1 big east start and beaten Duke with Jordan leading the charge, there would be more tolerant response.

If Lavin suspended Jordan for this behavior under those circumstances and in doing so, jeopardized the season's success, I'd bet the sentiment would be to boot Lavin, not Jordan.

Not defending Jordan nor Lavin. Jordan should hand over his password and suspend the account immediately, but the bigger outcry is fueled by losing.

Racial/homophobic/sexist tweets & challenging someone to a fight

Is this really Jordan or is it one of his entourage? I find it disturbing to think that the kid could be that monumentally stupid.

Racial/homophobic/sexist tweets & challenging someone to a fight

I recall a conversation you and I had during the waning days of Roberts tenure about your right to go to Carnesecca Arena and scream "you suck" at the top of your lungs. Your position was that your right to free expression trumped the sensibilities of your host and their guests; that language and morays change; and that that suck did not mean what it used to: that saying "you suck" to a male was not an implication that the person being addressed was pederast, but that the expression was a simple pejorative. Would you not agree to that the expression used by Jordan in the vernacular is not at all homophobic but is rather a simple pejorative? If not why not. As to its racial aspects, should you not check your white privilege?

Everyone has their own line, but to me there is a distinguishable difference between "you suck" and the 3 letter F-word. But to each their own. To me this is also about the set of standards for the players, as Rysheed is the only player that tweets/allowed-to-tweet during the season and he is now using homophobic/racist/sexist slurs and challenging someone to a fight on social media.

I was shocked when I heard Jordan was a 5star player. He doesn't know how guards are supposed to play the game. Do you think he watched the senior Branch last night and tried to learn from his play. Jordan should be playing behind Branch and be playing 20 minutes a game. If he does not like it he can walk and that would be doing the new coach a favor. So many young guards around the country that know how to play the game when they hit the court. What a disappointment he has been highlighted by the stupid N.B.A. talk.

Fair enough - although only sociopaths don't sometimes find their own behavior inappropriate. I certainly wouldn't argue that his behavior is seemly, only that it reflects his age and background.

Jordan is an exponentially better player than Branch. Jordan should have been starting every game, he should have been a pivotal part of the team's success this year. The fact that that hasn't played out is a major reason for the failure of this team this year. I'm not saying Jordan is without fault, by the way.
