Jordan Status?

I am a Regis grad and I work at the school now. Who do you know on the Regis team?

I know Leo and Pam and the boys very well. Mike and Paulie were both there since I have been and Bobby had just graduated.

I have said for years that the Regis-Xavier game does not get enough credit. Unfortunately the two schools do not produce enough talent on the court for the papers to cover it. I dont think either school has had a D1 player since Xavier had Nick Hendra about 6 years ago.

I will say this, there is far more excitement in the Xavier gym for that triple-header than any CTK game I've ever been to. While the talent level doesn't compare, the rivalry is intense, often pitting friend against friend and sometimes brother against brother. The fans of both teams are totally in to it. Love the chants also. Just sent you a PM

Very much off track but worth posting. There are a handful of Regis grads on the Xavier faculty. Matthew Thomas is a recent one I can think of, who just published the highly acclaimed novel, "We are not ourselves" based in part on his own experiences with a father who suffered from early onset Alzheimers that went undiagnosed in the initial stages. . Pretty certain PSK938 is aware of that book. I'll take ti to PM also.

Was just talking about that book with my friends who have sons at Xavier and Regis. They read the book and said it was amazing. Will read at some point. Brings to mind Tuesdays with Morey, another wonderful book. There's a lot of cross-over of faculty between Xavier/Regis/Loyola, and to a lesser degree Fordham Prep. Peter Gorynski, the long time football coach at Fordham Prep is one example. Xavier grad and then football coach, before heading over to FP. I may have mentioned this to you before, but Fr. Mike Sehler was my English teacher at Xavier many many years ago and right out of the seminary. He is now my Daughter's Latin teacher at Loyola. As PSk mentioned, Dr. Kristen Ross was asst principal at Regis before becoming principal at Loyola this year. The Jesuits like to keep it "in house". While Regis is certainly the per-eminent Catholic school in the city, if not the country, IMO the large majority of Xavier kids do just as well in life after high school. PSK may disagree ;)
Jesuits know their Xs & Os. :)

Would go private on this except that the Matt Thomas book, which has been described by some critics as a book that comes along once every ten years, is a significant and important read for any person who has struggled with a family member's battle with Alzheimer's. I am about 3/4 through this 1100 page novel. It was Matt Thomas who convinced me and then my son, that Xavier would be the right place for him. To your point, Chris Stevens, the current outstanding man and football coach, also spoke to my son prior to his decision and pointing across the gym to various faculty members rattled off their names and Jesuit high schools they had themselves attended. Getting to know you as a quality guy, you appear most certainly to be exemplary of the type of man Xavier produces.

Thanks so much Beast. Like most teenage boys who pay far more attention to girls(in most cases lol) and sports, I was oblivious at the time to the significance of my Xavier/Jesuit education and had no clue how well it would serve me in life. Over the years I've probably become as big an advocate for a Jesuit education as anyone. And not just the education, but the relationships/friendships as well. I know you well enough to know that you feel the same way. At this point, we should probably just start a Jesuit thread as we've gotten way off topic. Sorry guys :)

So did Rysheed play at Xavier, Regis or CTK? Guys, how about taking this to pm?

did Jordan play at Philly’s equivalent to Regis??

Regis unparalleled academic school, Xavier good but not on par with Reis, IMHO.
