Jordan Status?

Just because Harrison responded to John Lucas and picked himself up doesn't mean John Lucas' camp is a panacea.

No one suggested it was. It was just written in the spirit of offering avenues that could possibly be helpful. Picky, picky.

What Jordan needs is for his friends to stay in Philly and let go of his coattails.

Appreciate your opinion.

Obvious but;

@NYPost_Brazille: ESPN's Chad Ford on Rysheed Jordan "He's not ready" for NBA. Can see a team taking 2nd rd. flyer on him Sees 1st rd potential next yr #sjubb

Please try to get him to go John Lucas route this summer please.

That's all Sheed needs to hear. IMO he's as good as gone if he thinks he's going in 2nd round.

They'll only let go of his coattails if Sheed wants them off his coattails. I don't think Sheed's a bad kid, just an extremely immature kid.

Problem is, I don't think it's accurate.
I'm not sure there are any gms who would even be interested in him in the second round.
Frankly he would've been better served coming out after last season, this season has just highlighted more holes in his game and his reliability at this point in his life off the court.

Now, he needs to come back as a junior to repair his reputation and build his game.

Based on what he's displayed this season, any GM would have to be nuts to even think of drafting him. His only shot is if his hometown team is still throwing the season next year.

geez....haven't checked the board since early this morning and when i saw all the posts regarding "jordan status", i went to a really bad place.....i think i have SJU PTSD....

Totally agree. However, I think Jakarr's experience (which IMO is artificial) will play a role in his decision.

I completely agree that it is artificial and I worry how it might influence Jordan and, to a lesser extent, CO. Two things Sampson has on Jorda, though, is that he is renowned by all who who have every come across him as a geniunely amazing person that would be a boon to any locker room at any level...and, of course, he's 6'9 with unbelievable athleticism to boot.

I am extremely disappointed with what Jordan has given outside of a few games this season. If he can step up and play to just 3/4s of his potential this season, we would be a completely different team.

Same, can we please change the title lol, I'm always expecting the worst

IMO the SJU player with the best chance of making an NBA roster next year is Pointer.

Really? Pointer? Do you see him even getting drafted? I can see him getting drafted by an NFL team before an NBA team. He would make a great wide receiver. Plus his dunks over the crossbar after a touchdown would be awesome. You have to be able to put the ball in the hoop in the NBA. At his size, he is a 2 guard, maybe a small forward because of his hops. Those positions require outside shooting prowess. Just not his game.

I still say D'Lo winds up on an NBA roster next year. Have felt that way for years.

I don't think Pointer would get drafted but I also think he's better off not getting drafted late 2nd round. I think he is the type of player who would be better off picking the best situation for his skill set. No shame in that.

Bruce Bowen wasn't drafted and things turned out pretty well for him. Heck I think Pointer is the type of undrafted player that San Antonio steals from everyone else

I'd say no chance, but I also said Sampson only had a small chance last year and he is in the best situation he can ask for the time being. I guess it's kind of hard to close the door on someone who is so physically gifted.

He just doesn't have the skill to be able to compete at that level. You saw what happens when he takes more than 3 dribbles in traffic against Depaul...he had two balls just bounce straight away from him. He also can't shoot at all and he would be a little undersized for the NBA three.

Are his defense and rebounding good enough to overcome his complete lack of skill on offense? Not at the NBA level. Maybe if he goes abroad for a few years to sharpen up his skill set.

I felt Pointer and Sampson were two of the best athletes in the country last year. As far as pro prospects, I think CO and Jordan are both well ahead of Pointer, but neither of them figure to be starters or key reserves for a solid team for at least two to three years.
