Johnnies Tidbits

Omar has some real good looking skills, albeit raw.  He also comes across as great teammate and a kid with a lot of potential.  Obviously, we have to hope he stays.

I do think we could have given him a little more burn this year.  Hopefully he envisions a chance to play more under CMA.

Unless we have another mass exodus, which is what prevented us from playing last season(I don't care what excuse was used), why wouldn't we gladly accept an NIT bid?

Empire classic will be at Barclays center on November 21 and 22.

Looks like we will get 2 games out of it. Nice.

Welcome to God's Country--Brooklyn Red gets to walk to the game and enjoys some Brooklyn food.  Welcome home Posh!

So confused.  Assumed Brooklyn Red enjoys Brooklyn food often.  ;)

I spent 8 years in the neighborhood well before Barclays was built.  (85-93)  I'm sure it's changed just a little.

Brooklyn Red enjoys Brooklyn food all the time but at SJU games at MSG--meh!  And yes, the neighborhood has changed in a huge way as to living and dining.  Heck people go kayaking in the Gowanus Canal without worrying that the Canal is going to go on fire anymore.

Can’t see how we could lose the game to nova being up 17 if we win that game it changes our season
Also ,you would expect Champ to hit that wide open shot to ice the game ,but
that’s the past, let just hope for a very good recruiting-class next yr That would change things

I hear you  usguard.  I’m still devastated.  But looking at things with the benefit of the passing of time, it still would have been highly unlikely that we would have run the table.  If we didn’t run the table, the season would have been equally disappointing (I don’t take any consolation  in the NIT).

More importantly, the season shouldn’t have come down to the Big East Tournament.  The same thing could be said of Xavier.  Xavier simply imploded against Butler and if they won that game, they likely would have been in the dance.  But like us, Xavier shouldn’t have been in a “must win” situation.

Both teams struggled to close games, culminating in heartbreaking losses in the Big East Tournament. Steele is out at Xavier and CMA is on the hot seat and rightfully so.

With so much going on in college ball - coaching carousel, transfers - and have a fairly tumultuous spring last year - transfers, DeMeo leaving -......

.........it's been eerily quiet for SJU ball.
