Outstanding Pod Cast, which completely relates how many of the actual St Johns fans feel. And while it does not reflect the feelings of those on this board with a personal agenda to protect Anderson, you can’t deny the legitimacy of what was stated. What Zach said was interesting regarding the players that CMA brought in. He stared that many could not fit Anderson’s style of play and I agree. The Anderson apologists would always defend the players brought in by stating “he had to fill a roster” which is true but where Anderson FAILED was not adapting his system to his personnel.

Zach also believes that he needs to bring in a couple more big time contributors just to be competitive and currently there is no buzz to the program. What I found concerning is the lack of a high standard on the part of the school in that if Anderson has another poor year, he will still be around.? If that is truly the case, then we have wasted many years following a program and organization that obviously doesn’t give a damn.

Zach also didn’t put much confidence in Cragg coming from a program where success was inborn and didn’t have to be “drummed up”, and to that I agree. While the next month or so may or may not be critical to Anderson’s tenure as coach, it will certainly be critical to our fans tenure as continued supporters of the program.

Haven't been this down on the program in a decade.

Lets see if the university issues a press release within the next 90 days on strategic planning results with full committment to go all-in by providing the program with the needed infrastructure to recruit at top of Big East levels... if they screw it up, it won't matter who coaches after Anderson. If they get it right and move very quickly...there can once again be a buzz in NY.

Until then we'll continue to be average, at best and more often than not toward the bottom of the conference. That means  getting only a few decent level recruits  and hope for the best of the rest in HS and transfers with question marks.

I pray they go all in....

Was anyone invited to that ridiculous group chat of about 50 #sjubb Twitterettes that would constantly bitch and complain about coach and the season? Cause zach was and he sure enjoyed it. He was in there stoking the fire and rallying the troops. I’m not surprised the staff dislikes him.

For the record I have no problem with zach publicly criticizing the staff. He has and much of it is warranted. But when he’s basically in message boards drumming up negativity and adding to the cesspool that is the #sjubb hashtag, I think it’s a pretty bad look.

My decision to donate to this University lies totally in what I hear from them regarding our plans pertaining to our arena! If they go cheap I am done!  That simple!

The arena would help our lower backs but it won't help the team win.

They need improved player housing, lounges, food area, film room, weight room, locker room, individual coaches offices (v. shared), rehab/medical etc.

I attend about 6 games a year at CA and I treat my 2 son in laws and my brother in law to every game! I would attend more but I reside in my home in Florida most of the season!  I am so done with the horrible seats, terrible concession areas, poor ventilation, just to name a few! The place is an embarrassment echoed by my guests every time we attend! We as fans deserve much better! If they decide to do it right I will be the first to donate to the cause and I don’t mean a $100 donation! I will also become a season ticket holder even though many of the games I won’t be able to attend
I guess it’s their call!

Let me clarify a point! When I say a new arena I include a significant renovation of CA which would include 7500-8000 seating capacity, New state of the art concession facilities! Seats that are actually comfortable, plus all the items NC mentioned in his post!

The arena is also a danger to attendees in the upper tier. There are no rails to hold on to as one ascends/descends the stair to the upper bleachers. It's amazing that no one has fallen and sued the University  at this point. If you have ever been up there, you know what I'm talking about.

Not professional at all.

I don't see how you can renovate CA and get a seating capacity of 7500 - 8000 even if you blow out the end zones and raise the ceiling.  Not and add the other amenities on the list like seat backs, wider aisles (which you would need in the old section so you can include handrails), new concessions and the like.

A new Arena on campus unfortunately is probably less feasible due to real estate, what the environmental impact statement finds concerning the neighborhood and the Nimbys.

But yes something needs to be done one way or the other and not just putting lipstick on it.

Zach is almost becoming unbearable on twitter, and it's unfortunate because he's like the biggest beat writer that cover the Johnnies and most of his stuff is just negative lately.  I think what's happened is he's realized most of his subscribers are the guys that are constantly complaining on the #sjubb hashtag, so he's catering to his base.
