Technically, can he transfer w/o sit out for 2nd half since he's a grad student plus covid exemptions?

If so, Monte may be picking him up and driving him to Union Tpke.

For basketball purposes, second semester started back in December. Although it would have been an interesting test case since he's been on the move so much.

Does anybody know what was the status of Smith yesterday?

According to Zach B. in his "premium" tweets (only available by subscribing), Smith's absence was COVID related.

Strange bc at the presser, CMA said it was available and that it was a coach’s decision.

Maybe if Smith bails he comes back? Would he be able to play this year?

I wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot pole. He had a very good situation here, then bailed after listening to someone who did not have his best interest at heart. He fell for the Bullshit that if he transferred back to the NEC, he could be Player of the Year and secure a good deal overseas.

Dunn abandoned his teammates and showed no appreciation for what the staff allowed him to do. Now, after going to a lower level Conference where he averaged 12 pts a game , shooting 39%, and 30% from 3, he bails again. Nah, no welcome mat being placed out for him.

I realize times have been a changing a lot lately and the NCAA rules have been changing at a staggering rate but can anyone sight even one instance where a player played for more than one team in the same season?

I'm surprised that Stanley and Wheeler are not getting the praise they deserve for their defensive efforts late in the game .I really think that Stanley is an absolute diamond in the rough .

I hear you Panther, and you certainly know way more about the Dunn situation then I do. But why is Dunn so much different then any kid who transfers out, or in, expecting greener pastures?  We all know that many times it doesn't work out. To the best of my knowledge, Dunn finished out the last season and then decided to transfer out. Same as all the other kids who transferred out except Caraher, who split during the season. Not sure what happened at RM so I'm not going to judge him on that. This stuff happens all the time in this new era of college basketball, not understanding what makes the Dunn situation different then most others?

I might be miss remembering but wasn’t there an awkward moment in a press conference last season where CMA kind of hinted at dunn being done at sju even with the expected free year? I recall his transferring coming late after most assumed he was just going to graduate and pursue a pro career.

Do we know for sure SJU wanted Dunn back at sju?

I love Stanley. Get him some more minutes.

A few posters mentioned Wheeler having an impact defensively late. It wasn’t something I noticed but I don’t see everything. I remember him fouling a 3 point shooter, leaving his man for a double team late in the shot clock which led to a wide open 3, and then getting beat back door on the baseline badly while the game was still very much a game.

The 3 he took was a good look and he didn’t get trigger happy which is a positive. Personally, I prefer the other 3 bigs.

I share your observations re Wheeler defense last outing and I would go with a junkyard dog type player, especially the way this team is constructed, over seemingly a finesse guy in Wheeler anytime.

Wheeler I like in the press he can really disrupt things with his length and good speed and can get back quickly a couple times I’ve noticed when his guy driving near the basket he closes out at good angles and again with his length that creates problems near the basket. He can miss on switches but so do a lot of the guys. I’m not saying he is a super star but at times he does do some good things

I didn't notice it either, but then again  those kinds of things are much easier to spot when you're wearing rose colored glasses  /media/kunena/emoticons/smile.png

Not sure what happened at RM

Well there's really only two options, either he was thrown off the team or he quit on his team.   I agree he left STJ without incident, and a coach that didn't recruit him.  But even if it was possible I doubt many if any teams would take him back again after whatever went down at RM.  If he had eligibility another change of scenery might be fine for him but as it stands I think he's getting his passport or his CV ready.
