Johnnies open up at 108 in the NET rankings. Lot of ground to make up. Butler and Gtown only BE schools behind us.

 Amase - I should have said this sooner but I love your videos.  I only started watching them a few games ago but please keep making them.

Always liked Phil.  In my opinion, he was underrated while he was here.  This was especially true when asked to play PG, which was never his position.  Seems to be having a nice career overseas.  Good for him.  #TheSyracuseGame

St. John's will play in next year's Empire Classic, source confirms. Temple and Syracuse involved as well. @JonRothstein first.
 
Hoping we play Syracuse. They may not be very good, but we need to play at least one major local rival OOC every year (aka Syracuse or Rutgers... Pitt or Penn St are stretching it). Syracuse would be my #1 pick since they're the only other Power NY team and we have a stronger history with them.

Syracuse is a mess, moving to a southern conference has hurt their brand, so this would be a mutually beneficial rivalry. Hoping both sides recognize that and play each other.

Also hoping this isn't the only "neutral" game/Tournament we participate in since it'll count as a home game. Neutral games are hugely beneficial for NET/Q1/Q2 opportunities. Beating teams at home who are currently ranked #111 and #135 wouldn't help our resume much.

None of the former Big East schools that thought the grass was greener down south have fared particularly well athletically since they made the move. Syracuse, Boston College, Pitt, and Virginia Tech have all been mediocre at best. But, they're making much more money than they would have made in the Big East.

In the long run, the team that made out the best is Rutgers. Their share of the conference revenue has been phased in gradually over a number of years but, when they are full Big Ten partners, they'll be well heeled.

The Big East has announced dates for St. John’s recently postponed games to be made up. They’ll make up the Butler game on February 18th at 5 pm at Carnesecca Arena and the Georgetown game will now be on  February 21st at 7pm at the Mcdonough Arena  #SJUBB

So the middle of February now looks like this for St. John’s: 
2/16–@ Xavier at 6:30 pm
2/18-vs Butler at 5pm
2/21- @ Georgetown at 7pm
2/23 vs Creighton at 6:30pm #SJUBB

Old Big East Venues making a comeback.  St. John's playing Seton Hall at Walsh and Georgetown at McDonough.
 
Butler at 5 pm on a Friday evening is great TV viewing for us sleepy retirees lol. Hopefully it will be a good draw for SJU students right after a long week of classes
