Planning on sitting in the nosebleed seats so you can watch the game in shorts and a tee?

For those wondering like myself if SJU would be in a major exempt tourney next year, there is your answer.

Again no excuse to not be in one every year to be honest.

St. John's will play in next year's Empire Classic, source confirms. Temple and Syracuse involved as well. @JonRothstein first.

The Big East has announced dates for St. John’s recently postponed games to be made up. They’ll make up the Butler game on February 18th at 5 pm at Carnesecca Arena and the Georgetown game will now be on  February 21st at 7pm at the Mcdonough Arena  #SJUBB

So the middle of February now looks like this for St. John’s:
2/16–@ Xavier at 6:30 pm
2/18-vs Butler at 5pm
2/21- @ Georgetown at 7pm
2/23 vs Creighton at 6:30pm #SJUBB

4 games in 8 days is pretty tough, but that's what we're faced with due to scheduling challenges.

Thanks for the updates. So the home Marquette game is the only one not rescheduled yet? Should be interesting to see who can play tonight.

St John's is #272 in scoring defense. Early, but imo an area of concern to be remedied In BE play. Yes, We have some offensive pieces, but better half court and transitional D seems a priority. I don’t think SJ is built to put 89 points on the board too often. Thankfully DePaul’s 84 did not result in a loss.

I am thinking more and more that Boeheim is going to call it quits after this year or maybe announce he will coach 1 more year.

The program has clearly flatlined.  I know he has had some NCAA runs but he has basically a string of very mediocre regular seasons over the last 5-6 years.  And this year looking really mediocre/bad.

Hoping we play Syracuse. They may not be very good, but we need to play at least one major local rival OOC every year (aka Syracuse or Rutgers... Pitt or Penn St are stretching it). Syracuse would be my #1 pick since they're the only other Power NY team and we have a stronger history with them.

Syracuse is a mess, moving to a southern conference has hurt their brand, so this would be a mutually beneficial rivalry. Hoping both sides recognize that and play each other.

Also hoping this isn't the only "neutral" game/Tournament we participate in since it'll count as a home game. Neutral games are hugely beneficial for NET/Q1/Q2 opportunities. Beating teams at home who are currently ranked #111 and #135 wouldn't help our resume much.

We definitely have a few offensive pieces. In fact, that Pitt game was completely offensive /media/kunena/emoticons/wink.png

While I don’t think our defense has been good by any stretch, I think our fast pace of play has a lot to do with letting up so many PPG.

Does anybody know what was the status of Smith yesterday?

According to Zach B. in his "premium" tweets (only available by subscribing), Smith's absence was COVID related.
