Kid cant miss from NBA 3pt. LOL! Seems like a good kid Good Luck to him

Too bad he didnt shoot like that while he was at st johns. But I wish him good luck and thank him for coming to st johns

He's holding the ball higher then he used to on his jump shot. But I still think he would have trouble getting it off.

@NYPost_Brazille: Spoke to JaKarr Sampson Found this interesting "Felt like I could definitely develop faster in NBA or D-League than could in college"#sjubb

As I read more it seemed like he did not want to worry about school or classes more then a decission about his developement at SJU

Well, that worked out well.

Looks like Jakarr was the only one who was surprised that he wasn't drafted
Maybe he's a distant relative of Omar Cook
They were both delusional about their pro prospects when they left St John's

Recent comments seemed to indicate he felt he had a better chance of developing in the NBDL than at St. John's, so you have to figure in this internet age, he knew he wasn't getting drafted, but wanted to potentially develop in the NBDL to work his way to the league.

@SJUCoach Lavin: "Naturally, Jakarr would have preferred to be drafted but he has the upside, ability and determination to earn his way onto an NBA roster. No doubt Jakarr has a bright future in basketball."

no doubt coach you should have done a better job slapping some sense into your player

The sixers had 7 picks but only extended a summer camp invite. Good luck to Karr but I doubt he makes the roster.

Will be playing for the Sixers in the summer league according to his agent

He doesn't have a chance to make the roster. Awful decision. I hope he likes living with a host family and living near the poverty level.

School was not for Jakaar. That is the reasoning why he left; he'll make a few bucks overseas and be OK.

It had nothing to do with basketball it was just he did not like the school aspect of going to college.

Unlikely, but I give him an outside shot. A lot of Philly's picks last night were likely "draft-and-statsh."

Like many people on this Board, I always hope that our players stay for 4 years and earn a degree but that is no longer the reality of college basketball. The "One & Done" philosophy has become the norm (or "two & out in Jakkar's case). Additionally, the AAU circuit has done it's share of harm in many cases, thanks to people with agendas "advising" these kids. Like someone else already posted, maybe Jakarr didn't want to be in school anymore. Bottom line is that we shouldn't hope or wish any type of failure on this kid. We are better than that.

Jakarr had about the same chance of getting drafted as Doug McDermott had 2 years ago. Now look at McDermott. Difference between good advice and bad advice.

I'm sorry but if that's true, that's just horrible. Does he not have any parent figures in his life? By all indications he was a great kid with a good head on his shoulders. He was offered a free college degree and he passed up because he didn't like school. I just don't get it.

Sorry, but I do.
