Who knows, but maybe he committed to telling them of his decision to their faces like he told them to their faces he was looking into it?
It’s better he hides and has them hear he is leaving through the media if that is the decision?

Another thing to take into consideration when anyone argues that UConn will just up their contact to Hurley.

He makes over $5.2 million per (not surprisingly, making him the highest paid employee of the state of CT). But coming in at number two is Gino Auriemma at over $3.2 million.

That is a significant number because the state of CT already pays its basketball coaches roughly a combined $8.5 million per year.

It is hard for me to believe CT can budget much more to pay its university’s basketball coaches.
Kind of odd, but the revenue HURLEY produced pays Geno's salary. UCONN womens basketball does not net profit, only men's basketball.

I don't think the Billy Joel or team meeting means anything.

Hurley can easily use turning down Kentucky/LAL in one off-season to pump them up for summer workouts.

If Hurley was CAA, I'd actually think there would be some legs to him being a future Knicks coach. I just don't see it after the Thibs era. It'll be a veteran team in a win-now window. They'll probably promote from within (Johnnie Bryant)

This show has gotten better with time, but Thibs is the guest for the Hart/Brunson pod. Definitely tuning into that.

Did I miss something where he called a team meeting after his trip and interview in LA? I know he meet with the team beforehand which was the proper thing to do to let them know he was interviewing even if they had already heard the rumors. I respect that as in must cases the kids here everything from the press and internet without hearing from the coach.

Hey gang, please cease from mentioning UConn and the Knicks, as it has already taken much of our sports forgiveness to come to terms with being overrun by Villanova.

But that’s where we drawn a permanent line. If this continues, there will be no other option but to lock this thread forever, and make any responsible party listen to the audio version of every Mullins Revenge’s posts on a loop.

Now stop. You guys are disgusting, even poor kittens hate you.

Trilly: "Update: no meeting currently scheduled at UConn. Source reneged after I pressed him. The wait continues.

Team is off today."

Hurley seems like a decent guy when not on the court coaching.
Jungle Dave has been friends with him a long time ( before the Mullin debacle ) and said he’s a great guy super down to earth and funny as hell

The boneyard clearly think he is staying. Here is a poll they have.

He is the best and most entertaining coach in college basketball and its not close.

Pitino isnt too shabby either though.

Definitely think Pitino will deliver for us, and agree Hurley is an amazing HC and, by many accounts, also a good guy. I hope he stays. Still gonna grate me on the sidelines but that's the name of the game.
