You know damn well EVERY situation is different, with its own nuances, personalities, details and challenges.I’m absolutely not even taking a side you are probably both right in some points . Just chuckling because because while completely not relatable since money so much less and no relocation in 1996 when I partnered with my then partner it happened over a lunch then when he died in 2000 my new partner who I had known for a couple years a deal was struck over a 10 minute call march of 2020 ( when we all had to work from home for covid ) our second partner joined September of 2000 while appetizers were still being served ( eating outside during covid ) our 3rd partner joined over a drink at that same restaurant in 2022 our 4th partner joined after 1 meeting after our introductory dinner and our last 2 assistants had to decide yes or no the day we interviewed them
So my wife and I took two weeks to decide not to sell my company for a huge profit because of a proviso to move to San Diego and remain managing it, I had no desire to do either. If I was selling, I was gone. My wife shared my desire to stay on the East Coast where our families and friends were. But the $’s were more than just a little enticing and we went through the “we can always come back” after the two year commitment ended but decided it just wasn’t for us.
Why is it even a controversy to challenge the arrogance of people who think they can tell other people how to run their lives, what are proper time frames to make THEIR decisions? And how to announce THEIR decision? Etc., etc………
IMO, private decisions are just that, and no one else’s f’ing business, end of story.
I IM’d Paultzman at least an hour before the announcement that I had heard on fairly good authority Hurley was staying; why privately rather than posting?
Because it was none of my damn business.
