Well we can bitch about no additional big man all day, every day, but in the end, none of us are on the staff.
So why worry about things that isn't in our power. It's all on Chris and staff.
So let them do it the way they want. If they make the NCAA tourny then great, it's gonna be a great season. If not, then oh well.
Some how I think it all depends on if Ponds returns or not.

Paul, you used the most appropriate term to describe well over 200 kids leaving college this year who have not been projected in the 1st or 2nd round. ....DELUSIONAL.
These are the kids with ZERO interest in a college degree and ZERO insight into where they want to be 10 years from now.
Whomever advise these kids are doing them no favors.

But just haven’t been able to reel one in for what ever reason. . I know this is redundant, but it is problematic.We have a nice team next year if Ponds returns. But another big would have allowed me to breath easier. Thankfully, we picked up Figueroa.
 
I'd love to see that one "big" added, but even if that doesn't happen (and Ponds returns), there should be optimism about the fact that we have more players that can flat out make baskets than we have had in a long time. Too many years with too many "incredible athletes" that didn't translate into points on the scoreboard. Ponds, Dixon, Figueroa, Clark. guys that know how to put up points.

vs Big East teams.....we lose, that's what happens. This team will lose games they could have won next season due to not picking a big man. Doesn't have to be a star, just a 6-10 guy capable of putting a body on the opposition center while grabbing 2-3 rbs and scoring a bucket here and there in 10-12 minutes per game.

Don't understand using the last scholly on a sit-out transfer shooting guard who looks like a backup and will just be recruited over if successful anyway. There had to some grad transfer that could have been a serviceable backup

But what can we do? nothing. So why cry, bitch, and moan about it? It won't influence the recruiting.

Maybe they are hoping to get 30+ minutes per game from Keita and for the other 8-10 minutes play Clark at center with Roberts at PF/wing. Not too many feasible alternatives. I am trying to convince myself talent and speed will offset lack of size. We'll just have to wait and see; hoping for the best.
 
Frustrating that no Big is coming. Anyone have a paddle?

Great question Bama. Guessing that Staff has been unable to add "an additional interior player" for a sundry of reasons from our guard-oriented play, to a non-starting role, to the rap about the Staff's inability to 'develop' big guys.
So, faced with that, they've chosen to "roll the dice".
It helps that our roster has some great guards and potential lethal scorers as well as great athletes--but it boils down to accepting the 'reality' of the situation.

I think that is a shame. Most teams look aggressively for bigs. I think small ball is fine, but you have to have someone under the basket to do the dirty work. It's tough to look at a 6'3" guard as an enforcer.

I agree Frank. Was just trying to say that it's not that they "feel the talent is there without an interior player", it's that they've seen the fates and realize they cannot attract a "grad Big' given their style of play, the roster full of guards/wings, or the intense competition for 'Grad Bigs'.
So, they're standing pat--by necessity.
