Guys on Matt’s Radar

Do we have a shot? Saw Trey is visiting Maryland ‘unofficially’ this weekend. Obviously the big guy that swayed MD from Tariq.
Would hope we take a look
Hope? We do "hope" well at St. John's. We have a big problem with "delivery".
This is the best "big" prospect we have NOT been linked to. We should use the word hope but in CAPS..;)

Who knows but Femi clearly is in mix. He is visiting other programs & could opt to go elsewhere. It is always good to have multiple options.

Mitchell is a strong and quick point guard that is a tremendous athlete. He pushes the ball with his tight handle and dribble through on ball contact in order to make plays off the bounce. Mitchell is an acrobatic and crafty finisher. He can run offense as needed and .

Above is extract from ESPN scouting report on Davion Mitchell. At 6'1" and 200 pounds, sounds like a strong point guard who was part of the rotation as a freshman at Auburn. Was rated 63rd in ESPN top 100 last year. Would be a great pickup to come in after sitting one year, especially if Shamorie leaves after his junior year.

Seems like he would be good however I guess I just prefer bigger guards 6-3 to 6-5 I know that is short sited and you always need a shorter true pt that sets up etc but there are bigger guard that can do that I know beggars can be chooses I WILL BE MORE THAN HAPPY WITH ANY GOOD PLAYERS THAT MAKES US BETTER

I hear you usguard, but “...strong and quick guard that is a tremendous athlete...” and “...an acrobatic and crafty finisher...” sounds very cool, and mindful of our beloved Shamorie.

Bear in mind most transfers, like Clark & Simon for example, opt to enjoy luxury of official visit with all the bells & whistles before committing.
