I hear two other local schools are also interested in him.
And Mullin is where?
Besides Matt A, Greg St J is only other staff member on campus apparently.
Only at St. Johns. You can't make this stuff up.
I want to be the next coach, I'll even settle for $300,000
An assistant can do the X&O's and can do the recruiting.
In the off season, I'll be at the beach in Malibu.
I could act like I know what I'm doing on the sidelines too.
Chris our legend seems to be another lavin when it comins to recruiting.
some want to protect the great one, other dont care who you are, and will tell it how it is, no matter the person.
Honest serious question here.
If you want to bring your school back to greatness, and your the coach. Wouldn't you do everything in your power the accomplish that? Shouldn't you be out recruiting with Matt? Should you be on campus to meet Femi?
Me? I'd be a nut job, my mind would be on how I can make it happen at my school to the point where I wouldn't be sleeping much. Yeah, I'd take my summer vacation in June, July, and early August, but not now.
Some talk a good talk at presses about bringing back their former school, but talk is cheap. Only a few actually back their talk up. If you really care then show it, Why can't he be on campus too? Does he have more important thing to do, or just don't give a s*?
Sorry, but I call it as I see it. I learned never to get excited about recruits no matter how hyped they are on this sites.
With coaches: I got excited by the Lavin untill he got lazy recruiting, and I really thought Mullin would go all out to bring his school back, but sadly disappointed with both.
Mullin still can turn it around, but I seriously don't know if he will. When hired I was sure Mullin would be the man.
So as a SJU fan I learned one valuablelesson. Do not get excited for SJU, because you'll get slapped in the face.
That's an insult to Lavin.
The one thing he COULD do was recruit.
Yeah he could when he wanted to, then he just quit.
He quit recruiting because at some point while he was still the coach, the school and this board decided that no matter what, Mullin was going to be the next coach, and anyone but Mullin would be unacceptable. If Lavin quit recruiting, it was because this school/board quit on him way before anything he did/didn't do.
