12 Years a Slave was the best film I saw all year, and I didn't think it was even close. Thought American Hustle the actual film was a bit overrated but the performances were uniformly excellent.
 
Forgot to mention Captain Phillips...saw it....loved it. my number 2, behind 12 years a slave.

Haven't seen 12 Years yet but loved Captain Phillips. I thought the guy who played the Somali Pirate was amazing. Especially for someone who had no prior acting experience. And I thought Tom Hanks should have gotten an Oscar nomination for his performance.
 
Today on his show decreed if SJU beats Providence they're in. Providence probably needs two wins. He said if SJU loses to Providence that they're probably out.

interview Wright and he mentioned that St John's can take anyone out of their rhythm and would give number 1 Fllorida all they could handle if they played in the Garden. If SJU gets in they could make a run depending upon matchups. Wright thought Creighton could give Syracuse fits against their zone.

Interesting, when asked about contract extension and being at SJU for the long haul, Lavin says he will be here and that recruiting is lined up for '14, '15 and '16. Obviously, '15 and '16 are down the line, but he must have players ready to commit this year.

Oddsmakers have us a resounding third option to win the Big East. We are twice as likely as #4 Xavier! SJU -600 and Xavier is -1200 at #4. Both Nova and Creighton opened just under -200.
