When it comes to college basketball Fatso is way in over his head.

The opening week of the NCAA Tournament is some of the best radio all year listening to that buffoon pontificate about the teams and games. A lot of references to "the kid" "the big" "the freshman" and other vague terms to cover up his ineptitude in not knowing any of the players. Then he will have on "expert" Jon Rothstein to break the tournament down and then interrupt him whenever he goes to speak. He will pick a 12 over a 5 because "that happens every year" and away he goes. LOL

It iis good for a laugh but we cant take anything this man says seriously when it comes to college bball...its the equivalent of him coming on and trying to talk about health and fitness - cant be taken seriously.

Perfect +1

He still needs the MAD DOG.. And, Chris Russo needs to get back to a meaningful forum, not XM radio.. Effectively, Russo has become irrelevant, which is unfortunate.

He doesn't need anything because ratings have gone up since Mad Dog left.

I agree that alone, Mike is awful. And I do agree that by going to XM radio, Russo has become irrelevant. But I don't like Russo and don't think he'd be good getting back with Mike. Plus, I don't think Russo's ego would tolerate that. Or Mike's for that matter! ;)

Right! Initially they thought Mike would need a partner and they were trying different co hosts but the ratings never dropped and XM was flopping with Dog having no impact. The longer they waited, the more apparent it was they could get by without a co host.

Mike opened with Jeter of course today, but mentioned SJU before the Knicks, said they're shaping up as dangerous team, not just a tourney team. Wonder if he'll get any calls today?

Great basketball talk on FAN today. Mike felt Harrison should have taken the shot rather than pass to Greene. Mike would rather have Harrison shoot in
that spot anyway. Talk also centered on the lane violation and how it should not have been called. Fransecca still thinks they are in even with the loss
providing they beat Xavier and Marquette.
UCONN fans calling in a lamenting Big East and how they can';t get into this new league and they are right.
Also pointed out that Boeheim and K will not be in ACC forever and don't start talking about rivalries.

He opened today with correct analysis. Bad, bad loss.

Big Dance chances took a big big hit.

Now need to win last two and two in the BE Tourny to have a chance.

4 game winning streak or No Dance.

Might even have to win the BE Tourny.

Can't disagree with anything he said.

Dreadful performance from our go-to guy DLo.

Bad play from guards and inside defenders, too many dunks and layups.

Terrible shooting all the way around.

Maybe the Pope can grace us all with his presence on Sunday. Day game. High noon. Jack, Harrison and Emily can pose for pictures with Johnny Thunderbird and get t-shirts from the cheerleaders and dance team.

Nice summary. I heard that too. But to show how clueless he really is, he never mentioned Dlo by name. He said something to the effect of "St. John's go-to player..."

Yeah and I found 10 million dollars worth of rare coins in my backyard. Both could happen but never will.

MF--- master of the obvious.

I love when he predicts a game; if it doesn't pan out, instead of saying he was wrong, he contorts himself and tries to explain why it was the proper prediction anyway. Makes my buddy nuts.

i havent seen wolf of wallstreet yet, but francesa is the only person ive heard that actually disliked that movie...

12 years a slave should win....others ive seen were gravity (terrible), dallas buyers club (just 'ok') and american hustle (pretty good.)

Wolf was good but way too long. I remember those Stratton D*cks from way back in the day. Cocky Mofo's and we all knew exactly what they were doing and yet they got away with it for a while. They used to roll into Sprat's and Paddy Mcgees a lot. Leo did a great job though and so did Jonah Hill.

Ironically in regards to midgets in the movie the first bachelor party I ever went to they hired a midget bartender. Those guys might have been short but made big stacks of money

I agree with you about Dallas Buyers. It was ok. I actually fell asleep in it

Gravity was ok but doesn't deserve the award

Philomena was pretty good and Nebraska was awesome

12 years a slave we liked but I loved American Hustle and think Hustle wins

Thank you, I though gravity was horrible.

American Hustle was very good. That cast was unreal. I thought Bale was fantastic, and Cooper is a riot. Jennifer Lawrence was sensational, but she had such a small role. Amy Adams is always solid, and Renner is really underrated.

The Wolf of Wall street was good as well. It was really long. The country club scene had me dying. Leo is always so strong, but Jonah Hill knocked it out of the park.

12 years as a slave was a powerful movie.

I thought Robert Redford's All Is Lost was the best film all year, and I cannot believe Gravity--which I really liked--was nominated over it.

Never saw all is lost but agree Gravity never should have been nominated. For special effects yeah they should win but definitely not best picture

And anyone who has spent time in the south or the Midwest really needs to see Nebraska. Funny stuff in a slow moving type way. It was like reliving my moms side of the family from Maryland. Really loved it

Agree wholeheartedly about Nebraska. A very quirky, but funny movie. I thought Bruce Dern was amazing in his role.

Some of my wife's family are in North Dakota and she said the same as what you said about your Mom's side of the family. My wife said all the scenes and surrounding actors (many who were locals) reminded her so much of her Mother's home town in North Dakota and her family who still live there.

I am going to watch Nebraska tomorrow. All Is Lost just left me saying wow. Great movie and there were only 3-4 lines of dialogue. Then again, Robert Redford looks exactly like my father, so I am partial to his performances.
