Fire Lavin!

I would just like to thank "Coach" Lavin for the time he spent preparing for, and appearing on, television during the final four tourney. I feel, given the current needs of our program, this was the best use of his time.

Actually it may have been the best use of his time as recruits are watching tv and he got the exposure

I would disagree. When you have six available scholarships, I think you pound the pavement. Exposure is nice, but we need to sign bodies asap.

Agree here. And plus fox sports 1 isn't the go to channel for teenagers, believe me...

Tourney and pre and post games shows were on CBS TNT TBS TrueTV, ESPN heavy coverage. I for one haven't watched FOX Sports 1 since end of BE season and didn't see a second of Lavs but maybe some top recruits did and they will decommit and sign with us because Lavs was on Tv.
 
Any chance players leaving is part of SL plan? We had a weak front curt. Players didn't buy into playing roles for the benefit of the team. Maybe SL realized it would be better to bring in some team oriented role players to complement a strong back court of DLo and Sheed?

Not sure if I believe this, just throwing the idea out there.

There were 3 scholarships available as it is with seniors leaving, so plenty of room for new players to push the front court guys

Not sure if I believe this, just throwing the idea out there.

There must be a handful of HS coaches on here, hopefully you guys attend and give him as many pointers as time permits. Maybe bring note cards, and use mnemonics.

Well Ollie can talk about what it is like to have won the most recent NC and Lavin can talk about what it is like to be blown out at home as a one seed in the first round of the NIT. That should about cover both ends of the spectrum.
 
Out of the 3 forwards he seems to be chasing I hope Thomas is the one we get. Seems like he's willing to work, rebound and his game is good enough to have to be guarded down low.

Francesa just said he saw Lavin on tv the other night and he thinks he should go back to tv. He said he hasnt done a good job coaching the team and building the problem and he is better suited for tv. Just his 2 cents, thought I would share what I heard .

At this point, if Lavin does not land both Thomas and Cunningham you would have to say the 2014 recruiting effort is his worst to date.
