Fire Lavin!

If Lavin's contract is extended by as much as 10 minutes after this pathetic season, we'll know that the gross incompetence and corruption that defined St John's during the Harrington/Cecilia Chang era is still alive and well.

Losing to Roger Morris is pathetic. Wow. School deserves more.

Ouch.

There will be ripples from this.

No there won't

Keep telling yourself that.

The school only responds to people who have influence.

And nobody with influence cares.

Lavin and the school already came out and said they are working towards an extension. He's here for the long term no matter how much of a disappointment this year was.

Like I said, keep thinking that.

Who comes in and does a better job than Lavin. I'm not saying that Lavin has been great here, but i don't think a local up and coming coach would do much better. I think we need a coach with some type of established track record to come here to make our program look appealing to any recruit. I would absolutely love a Shaka Smart type coach or a Anthony Grant but i don't see what would make a coach like that choose to leave their respective programs

Not even sure what that means, but Lavin is not getting fired

Where did I say he's getting fired?

Ripple. Domino. They are effects.

What a disappointment from Lavin's first year of going to the NCAA's and racking up the recruits. I still think he used his ESPN notoriety to sign the recruits and we have seen the best of his recruiting. Everything could be down hill from here.

I agree on his first group of recruits, but I think the winning and momentum around the program had something to do with it as well. I don't think Lavin's ESPN notoriety had much to do with signing Rysheed and he is our most recent as well as highest rated recruit yet.

Having the first group of recruits on what appeared to be an upswing sold Rysheed on St. John's. 2014 recruits are not seeing that upswing and it is becoming less likely that 2015 recruits will see it either. I am afraid this thing implodes like it did at UCLA in his last year.

That's the problem-nobody with influence cares, and not enough people care and yet people wonder about our attendance!

The student section just chanted "fire Lavin." #sjubb

Hmm...was there and don't recall hearing that...probably not paying attention

Time to dig this one out of the vault again:

St. John's Athletic Director Chris Monasch: The Dumbest Executive In College Athletics?

"It now looks like Monasch just might be dumb enough to consider giving Lavin a serious look. Lav's media buddies and ESPN shill are busy spreading around this story.

If Monasch actually gives Lav a serious look he will officially compete with North Carolina State's Lee Fowler for being the stupidest athletic director in all of college basketball. He was the last one who actually had a serious conversation about Lavin coaching a program.

Perhaps if he goes to a place like St. Johns he will be able to bring in one or two good recruiting classes like he was able to do in his first two years in Westwood taking advantage of the cache Jim Harrick rebuilt in Westwood. Yet sooner or later he will get exposed as a complete fraud."
