EPL 2015-16

Arsenal were dire but give full credit to West Ham and the 16 yr old that made his PL debut. Man U, Chelsea and L'Pool did not look too hot either but losing at home to WHam is inexcusable. The Arse better get it right vs Palace on Sun.

Man City will take it home. only 37 games remain so it's pretty much over

But just to give my perspective on why Arsenal are not up to scruff since I know the majority of US fans are Arsenal supporters.

Look at Man City yesterday. In the middle of the park they've got Fernandinho and Toure. 2 guys who are the epitome of "ball-winners" and box to box threats. And on the wings they have blurs with Sterling and Navas.

Arsenal have a bunch of malingerers on their team like Mesut Osil and Ramsey in the middle of the field. You need a towering presence like a Busquets, Matuidi or Macherano. And no, Arteta is not going to cut it either.

City had the best showing for week 1 but they're not without flaws. Man U needs to figure out a more consistent offense and Chelsea needs to get their feet under them now. Arsenal still lack the forward that could be a target man and I think they get that before the deadline.

Big game this Sunday between City and Chelsea without Courtois.

think this is fox's first sports whiff.

How is bringing the 2nd most popular League in the world to American TV a whiff?

maybe 2nd most popular league in Moose's world, but most definitely not 2nd most popular in the actual world. La Liga, BPL and maybe Serie A are more popular

Probably true, but those leagues are not available on non-pay cable, and there's plenty of quality teams and stars in Germany. Bayern's better than any BPL team and their strikers are probably second only to Barca's. Plus, Germany put on a show in Brazil last year and most of those guys are playing in the Bundesliga.

Attendance and the fact every team but 1 in the league makes money. As opposed to La Liga and Serie A where attendance and finances are trainwrecks.

I don't doubt Bayern as easily a top 5 club in the world. And there are several good players. But casual fans are not going to pay consistent attention to the league unless Dortmund are resurrected again. There has to be some competition. The only league that's more 1 sided is my Greek league with Olympiakos winning 42 league titles! If only that translated into European success...

Most teams that I know can't even pay their players in Greece! I know that's not a shocker. But that doesn't make them less popular. Everywhere I go that employs people of Latino descent, on Saturdays and Sundays the television sets in those establishments are set to Barcelona or Real. They are titans worldwide. I respect the hell out of Bayern and very much enjoy the Bundesliga. But it isn't as popular

Not to ramble but it's pretty cool on here to see so many good fans of the sport let's throw out some predictions for other leagues and competitions:

La Liga: Barcelona
Bundesliga: Bayern
Serie A: Roma

Champions League: PSG

It definitely isn't as popular. Friend of mine went into a bar the other day in NJ the day of the Red Bulls match and every TV in the bar was on Gremio. Tons of fans but while I will say La Liga and Serie A are poorly run those South American leagues are in another stratosphere. Tons of interest for sure.

Bundi is arguably the best run League in the world. And brings an exciting brand of football. From a football standpoint I'd rather watch two mid table Bundi teams instead of two La Liga or Serie A teams.

I agree completely. The pace of play is far more entertaining, and you definitely see more quality from those mid-table sides which result in exciting 4-2 type matches

The problem with the Bundesliga is after you get past Bayern they are all middle rung teams. Not that they are bad teams, they have some good ones, but it is a race for second place. While, that does lead to some entertaining matches, it makes the Bundesliga is beyond top heavy. It is a pyramid, and at its apex is BM.

You are 100% right but that's the case with Ligue 1. Serie A and to an extent La Liga can be considered such as well with Juve, Barca and Real.

Ligue 1 definitely fits the narrative as a one team league, PSG, and everyone else.

La Liga has two giants who battle for first place, and Atletico Madrid is a handful. Not much, but better.

Serie A, which is what I grew up on, has Juve, Roma, Inter, and Napoli (Milan has fallen off a cliff recently). While Juve is the best, they are not assured of winning the scudetto by any means.

Small examples to be sure, but a bit more competitive than the Bundesliga (and Ligue 1).
