EPL 2015-16

Pep is going to Man City.

Today is transfer deadline day, last call for the wheeler-dealers.

Premier League resumes tomorrow after the FA Cup (all the big boys progressed). Not sure where Guinness77 is these days but his Spurs are the form team.

And after a lifetime of making friends, John Terry is [strike]retiring.[/strike] moving on.

I'm still here. B)
I've been so busy lately between life and the kids, and, to be perfectly frank, this site stinks on my phone (it is easily the least compatible site of any I frequent on a somewhat basis), so the only time I really come on the forum anymore is when I'm on my computer, which is barely at all.

Anywhoo....yeah, I'm happy with where we stand. Freaking ecstatic about one Dele Alli, still can't get over his goal at Palace last week. But...being the perpetual pessimist that being a Spurs supporter can make me (amongst the other "great" teams I root for) and seeing how Levy did nothing to support the team up top or in the back (after the Vertonghen injury) I'm still cautiously optimistic. Although, I do love this team, love the way they seem to get along and love Pochettino going forward.

Being as the league is in kind of an"off" year, I'd consider anything less than top 4 unacceptable and, I'm actually starting to have delusions of a long run for the FA Cup. I want some trophies, dammit.

Have you seen the stat that Leicester has spent more days atop the EPL this year then Spurs have in total since 1992. Crazy. Spurs should definitely be top four this year. They better just hope that Chelsea doesn't win the Champions league.

He didn't say he was retiring, he said his BPL career is over. I bet he ends up doing of of those MSL farewell tours as well. I guess that's kind of like retirement.

Don't be so sure. Not many MLS teams especially the markets he wants to go to have the room. While he can be serviceable in MLS and likely one of the Top 10 CB's in the league unless he wants to go to markets like NE, CHI or DC he won't have many MLS options.

I could see JT spending a year or two in the Serie A. I'm still holding out hope he's back at the Bridge next season. We'll see who Chelsea brings in to manage the team. Chelsea never said that JT will not be back but they want to wait and let the new manager make the decision.

And the Arsenal collapse begins.................

Maybe. Man C vs Leicester this weekend. Arse vs Foxes following week and Man C vs Spurs. We will know better then. I am not throwing in the towel yet, but I am not optimistic either.

Vardy vs. L'pool: WOW!

btw WTF is China doing

Stacking up apparently... Jackson Martinez, Guarin, Gervinho, ramires etc, looks like theyre trying to (somewhat) contend in the near future with the euro leagues

Hope they actually get paid unlike Drogba and Anelka

Martinez just got 45 million and the others came out making a pretty penny as well.

OH! they also paid 25 mill for ramires!

I was referring to unpaid wages which happened with the guys I mentioned

Lol i wasnt aware. I guess that's always a possibility when going to play in China

Apparently printing money. Teixeira heading to China for 50 Million and Chelsea turns down 75 million euros for Oscar. The numbers are just crazy.

Yes and now a Chinese team is ALLEGEDLY offering Mourinho, which has stalled the United talks. I thought United was a done deal for him already. This could be a ploy by him, but who knows.

How about Leicester hammering Man City. Wow this is getting crazy. Leicester or Spurs might actually win the league. Who saw this coming.

Leicester have been magnificent and it would be foolish to bet against them at this stage. After Arsenal next week they are through the toughest part of their schedule. They are also out of the cups and not in Europe, so they can focus on the league. They are full of confidence and the only thing that might derail them is an injury to Mahrez or Vardy. They would be the first team outside the Big 4 to win the League since Blackburn over 20 years ago. Most pundits had picked Leicester to be relegated... unreal!!

Two HUGE games next weekend.

Yes, Chelsea vs Newcastle should be a good one.

Sunday is must see TV. Aesenal/Leicester at 7:00 and then Spurs go to the Etihad to play City. Not often you get the top four playing each other on the same day. Could have major consequences on the standings. If Wenger is going to win a title he better come away with three points. No more excuses for the Gunners this is a must win at home.

Arsenal to face MLS all stars. I guess Wenger is tired of losing the Emirates Cup every year.

ARSENAL TO FACE MLS IN 2016 ALL-STAR GAME
Major League Soccer announced that Arsenal will be the opponent for the 2016 MLS All-Star Game. The game will be played in San Jose on July 28 and telecast in the U.S. on ESPN.
