Good win for the Arsenal today, 2-1 over Man C. Walcott and Giroud. Ozil excellent again, entire team played well.
Very nice win but don't get too excited. Mourinho will never let Wenger win the EPL. Mou will go to United and lead them to the EPL and Europa championships. Its the Mourinho way. It'll give him the chance to give the middle finger to Arsenal, Man City and Chelsea. Then he'll gut the team and be fired in two years.
Wenger was winning titles back when Mou was doing translation work for Barca. I think Mou's stock is very low - be surprised if Man U took that route but stranger things have happened.
Stop with Wenger and trophies. My kids weren't even born when the invincibles had their run. Mourinho and Pep have the most trophies the last decade by far. Hate Mourinho all you want but he is incredible successful.
I don't hate Mou. Clearly a successful manager but greatly aided by the millions invested by Abramovich and the boards at Real and Inter. Not sure why Abramovich fired him the first time but his players stopped playing for him this go round and the Russian had enough. The Carneiro incident and his suspensions by the FA probably did not help. At least he did not eye-gouge anyone!
Wenger has been at Arsenal since 1997 and has won
plenty in that time, most recently the FA Cup in 2014 and 2015. Could have left for Madrid, PSG, France, etc.over the years but remained loyal. Overseen the building of one of the finest modern football stadiums in the world while balancing the books. Gets the team into the Champions League every year. Maybe a barren spell while the stadium debt was being paid off, but that is understandable.
The Invincibles: P38, W 26, D12, L0.
The list of players he brought to in to shine in the PL is enormous. Henry, Pires, Vieira, Lunjgberg, Overmars, Petit, Fabregas, van Persie, Toure, Nasri, Cole, Kanu, Ozil, Sanchez, Hleb, Anelka, Wiltord, Lauren, Wilshire, Walcott, Cazorla, Monreal, Suker, Eduardo, Gilberto, Edu... etc. Extended and enhanced the careers of Wright, Bergkamp, Campbell, Adams, Keown, Winterburn, Cech, etc. Should have won the CL in 2005, but Jens and Henry scuppered that...
Always sets out his team to play the right way. Wenger is not above criticism and can be stubborn to a fault (probably will not reinforce the team in Jan) but is up there with Chapman, Busby, Ferguson, Clough, Paisley and Shankly as the best ever to manage in England...
